LJ Idol Presents:

The mini-season is over http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/942402.html which means it's time for the "rivals" to drop off "Friends and Rivals".

Making new friends is always one of the highlights of an Idol season - which is why we always end them with a "Friending Frenzy".

So, if you want to meet new people on LJ, post here and say a few words about yourself that might make someone interested in friending your journal! (if they haven't already done so)

Tell your friends to come on over. That's the important part. Spread the spirit of LJ Idol by spreading the word of, and the love for, Livejournal!

The dust is settled and the results are in, and people are being “encouraged” to leave the Green Room by the gas that is seeping in through the grates.

As the final one is carried out on a stretcher, desperately hanging on to the piece of chair they broke off in their last stand, even as it tumbles from their raptly going limp hands - the doors to the Green Room are slammed shut, locking from the inside. So that no one can open them, until the resortation is complete and we meet again next season!

For now, it’s off to the Banquet Hall, and from there - maybe, just maybe, there will be a door back to “your real lives”. I know you don’t remember them, and some of you will prefer to stay here, where it’s safe. But I’m sure there are folks who probably miss you out there.

I can’t imagine why! ;)

Welcome to the Banquet Hall! There is a buffet and an open bar. There is also a good old fashioned “Friending Frenzy”.

So, if you have been waiting to friend someone, or just want to put yourself out there... or tell a friend or 15 to stop on by, it’s a great way to cap off a great season, and a way for newbies to stick their head out and get to know people!

So step up and say “Hello!” and tell your friends to come on in and do the same!

A couple people asked "Hey, are we having the traditional Afterparty???" I figured most of you were asleep by this point! ;)

But for the people still willing to stagger in for one last gasp - here's a little something.

Before we get to that though, a little housekeeping business.

Is there going to be a Season 7? - The BIG question that everyone asks.

Barring anything unforeseen - YES, there will be a Season 7.

When? It won't be for a few months. I don't have a date yet. Still recharging from this one! (Actually still doing housekeeping from this one, haven't had the chance to put it down yet.)

Tampa Oddcon - October 8th - 10th http://tampabay-oddcon.com/ I will be a guest. Several Idolers will be there doing a panel and the published ones will be signing copies of their books. It's going to be the largest in person gathering of Idol folks since, well, since ever. Times are tough, but I hope that anyone who *is able* to make it comes out! Come on - FLORIDA in October! You know you want to do it!! :) UPDATE:Unfortunately due to circumstances outside our control apparently Oddcon has been postponed. As soon as a new date is set in stone, I will announce it.

I think that's it for now. Other than my traditional "if you want to thank Idol" list, but no one ever really wants to hear that! :P

Congratulations again to beautyofgrey and to everyone who came out and participated this season.

The bar is open, so is the buffet.

If you have been waiting for that chance to friend people/post an open invitation for people to friend you, this is a really good chance to do so!

If you have been on the sidelines watching - and wanted to jump in and intereact/friend people - this is a GREAT chance to do it, especially if you are considering signing up for Season 7!

Have fun! Mingle! Make sure to friend those people you have been holding off on friending! Have fun (a second time)! And most of all, take care of each other (and yourselves).

The doors to the Green Room are now locked, however if you'll just walk this way over to the Banquet Hall. . . it's not much further I promise.

Ah, here we are.

The decorations look nice and the catering company seems to have put out a spread worthy of ewok_626's standards.

You'll no doubt notice the tables, chairs, comfy couches spread across the room as well as the sizeable dance floor. It's because this isn't a normal "Wrap Party".

It's also a FRIENDING FRENZY!!!!!

One of the (many) things that I love about Idol is the relationships that are formed in the trenches as the season progresses. But quite a few of them this time around started at last year's Wrap Party/Friending Frenzy!

I, personally, have made more friends this season than any in the past.

I think that holds true for most of you as well.

That said, enjoy the space - mingle and kick back. Introduce yourself to people, and by all means, TELL YOUR FRIENDS TO STOP BY!!!!! You never know if that newbie you mention it to might be the next LJ Idol!!!!

Obviously, no smoking indoors, soliciting or flash photography and keep your arms and legs inside the Banquet Hall at all times.
