The dust is settled and the results are in, and people are being “encouraged” to leave the Green Room by the gas that is seeping in through the grates.

As the final one is carried out on a stretcher, desperately hanging on to the piece of chair they broke off in their last stand, even as it tumbles from their raptly going limp hands - the doors to the Green Room are slammed shut, locking from the inside. So that no one can open them, until the resortation is complete and we meet again next season!

For now, it’s off to the Banquet Hall, and from there - maybe, just maybe, there will be a door back to “your real lives”. I know you don’t remember them, and some of you will prefer to stay here, where it’s safe. But I’m sure there are folks who probably miss you out there.

I can’t imagine why! ;)

Welcome to the Banquet Hall! There is a buffet and an open bar. There is also a good old fashioned “Friending Frenzy”.

So, if you have been waiting to friend someone, or just want to put yourself out there... or tell a friend or 15 to stop on by, it’s a great way to cap off a great season, and a way for newbies to stick their head out and get to know people!

So step up and say “Hello!” and tell your friends to come on in and do the same!

Hello! I am open to friending, although at the moment I am not very interactive because I'm still recovering from all the social-ness of Idol. :)

As for what I generally post...mad ramblings about whatever I'm researching at the moment and what it has to do with the state of the world, and how I'm trying to figure out how humans work and thus how I can hack them to be better. So if light fluffy updates about daily activities are your preferred style of f-list reading, we might not work out. But if you're into essays about theories of development and social/cognitive issues and also stuff about Beauty and Goodness and Truth and the universe and spirituality and reality and the formless ground of being and also introspective looks into how I ended up the way I am, then hey, we might could be friends. :)

I'd love more friends!

I post about my job at a community college here in NYC and Academia in general (though not so much lately, as I'm on vacation).

I also write A LOT about my family and friends. My family has a huge oral history stretching back to my great-great grandparents, and I'm trying to write down as many of those stories as possible.

I belong to eight different museums (I'm thinking about moving up to ten), and I write about my visits to those places.

I'm not very good at approaching people individually--it makes me just as anxious on the internet as in "real life"--but I'm open to friending. I still haven't gotten back into the habit of posting regularly, but I read my f-list daily, and I do comment occasionally. On the bright side, I never cut people for inactivity or infrequent comments! (Also, I'm not very good at selling myself.)

Hey all - if you don't know me by now (I've been playing since season 4), I'm Laura, age 44 (but I still get carded in casinos), happily married for 19 years, owned by 4 cats, no kids.

I don't post to LJ as often as I used to - maybe 2-3 times a week on average - but I still enjoy reading my Flist when I can pull my sorry butt away from Facebook. I love to bowl, read, play word games like Lexulous/Scrabble/Words with Friends, travel, and watch far too much TV. I'm addicted to Starbucks and LJ Icons (I've got over 200).

I always welcome anyone willing to subject themselves to my ramblings.
Here's to a great season. This was a wonderful thing for me. It got me back into writing practice, gave me back my voice, got me to start a novel that is actually going somewhere...and allowed me to meet so many incredibly people, some of whom I am lucky enough to call friends.

Here's to next season, the myriad twists and turns, and to hoping this bottle of chardonnay holds out. ;)

(P.S. to Gary: I'm stocking up on patchouli and ankle bracelets for Season 9. ;P)

Hi! I'm Emmy the host of the plural collective that goes by the house name Dreamers. We've been in RLJI for awhile, but we always disappear somewhere in the beginning because RL gets the better of us.
