If you saw the numbers coming in from the first day, you figured that would be how it would go down. But if you followed the entire week of voting... oh my what a different story.

She came back.

Then tru2myart surged back ahead, and dissolvedgurl almost made another come back in the last few hours!!!

and oh, wikkidpixie went from running away with it to having both of her competitors within inches of toppling her lead!!

If this week didn't get your pulses racing and keep you on the edge of your seat I'd check, you might be dead!!!

Going into this round, the season high for votes was in the mid-30s. ALL THREE of the competitors beat that mark this time!!!

Today is December 1st. We started this season on *August 1st*.

That's how long it's taken to get here, and that's how long it's taken for the remaining two to forge themselves from people who thought they wouldn't last to the second round into the FINAL TWO.


They've come along way, but which of them has what it takes to win???

As far as second chances go, hers was a doozy. Being brought back into the game, and beating out top contenders week after week in VERY close races. There was some talk that she could do this all the way up to the finals. Instead, it ended here with the FINAL FOUR.

The latest contestant to be eliminated is brandedeclipse.

For the remaining three - they've been wondering what will happen for Thanksgiving... would they get the week off? Would they be given a "what I'm thankful for" topic? Would they be given turkey and stuffing and would dissolvedgurl just chuckle because she had HER Thanksgiving weeks ago???

The answer to all of the above (well, except the chuckling part) is NO.

There is no time off. There is no Thanksgiving softball thrown across the plate.

There IS an extended period to write the entry. There IS an option for you to get as cheesy as you want to get with the topic.

THAT'S RIGHT - this is your FINAL "open topic" week. You pick the topic!!

You are the FINAL THREE and your one shot at getting to the finals rests solely in your own hands.

With victory so close you can taste it, once again things get shaken up in a way that you might have not been expecting.

I went to last seasons winner tinhuviel and my assistant on all things technical - not to mention also being Season 1's runner up- onyxblue1 and I asked them for topic suggestions.

I then threw in a couple of my own to make it an even 8 topics.

8 topics, divided into 2 sections. 4 contestants. I'm sure you see where this is going.*g*

Each of the remaining contestants must pick 2 topics. One from the first section and one from the second.

You must then write 2 entries and link them back here.

To select a topic, you must declare what topics you are selecting HERE. It is first come first served. Once someone selects a topic, no one else can select it.

Which of course means the last contestant to make up their mind on what two to write will get the last two remaining topics.

We started with 24 eager faces - each of them with one dream, to become the NEXT LJ IDOL

Now we have 5.

But who are these people and what have they done in this competition?

brandedeclipseThe Comeback Kid. She, and bhyphen were put up for elimination when Wikkidpixie used her immunity to save another contestant. Bhyphen had his alliance to save her, brandedeclipse wasn't so lucky and ended up being eliminated in a controversial and emotional close tie-breaker. She was brought back along with lifeofjason by simplysakka in yet another twist to this game. She knows what it's like to be voted out... and what it takes to stay in this game. She's been called, by a fellow competitor, "the best writer in the competition". After a couple *very* close calls - is this the end of her run OR has it motivated her support base to work even harder to keep her in?

deyaniera: The Veteran and Early Favorite. She's the only remaining player from last season still in this. She was favored to win going in last season, she was an early favorite to win this time. She's had some good weeks, she's had some scary weeks, but she's always pulled through. It was once thought that she, simplysakka and brujah would ride this thing out to the final three. Now, she's the only one left from that group. Is that a sign of things to come or will she continue her winning ways?

dissolvedgurl The Doubting Foreigner.In week one she declared that she was going to be the first one out. A lot of hard work and several scares - she's still here. As the only remaining non-American in this competition, does that give her an edge or single her out? Does it make a difference? Can she continue to overcome the odds and her doubts and find a way to win?

tru2myart The Sudden Legend. She started this competition still fairly new to LJ and knowing barely anyone. Now she stands with a sizeable friends list and support system. Her fellow players declared her "The Spirit of LJ IDOL". Is spirit enough? Has she come far enough to win this? She had won 20 extra votes - she used a few to save brandedeclipse, which eliminated the popular brujah... she then used her remaining votes, spacing them out so that they would have no impact on the outcome. Will her kindness help or hurt her as the competition gets tighter?

wikkidpixie The Powerhouse. Again, another person who declared herself to be the one most likely to be out first... and then out second and then... next thing you knew she was running the tables voting wise, dominating week after week. She even went so far as to make sure she got her entry in one week where she was on a vacation cruise! Has she used up her base too soon? Can she expand it enough to stave off the others?


Which one of these talented women will be YOUR NEXT LJ IDOL? That, dear voters, is for you to decide!!

On the day where the barriers between the worlds is the thinnest - when the dead visit the living we put to rest one of the two contestants who had been ressurrected from the "dead". Lifeofjason had been given a new lease on life, but ultimately, it was not enough.

He was the last man standing - and now we know that once again, a woman is going to be win LJ Idol.

He fought the good fight and he will be missed.

brandedeclipse had the least amount of votes this week - HOWEVER this is where the power you handed tru2myart comes into play. She used 3 of her 20 votes to save brandedeclipse. Who, oddly enough, ended up being the victim the *last* time an immunity was used in this game, only to be voted back in!!

Penny's impact in this game has now been felt - and she has 17 more votes to use with the power you gave to her!!

So the person with the *next* lowest vote total is eliminated this week - which means we are saying goodbye to brujah

She survived a run-off last week, and *almost* found herself in another this week, seperated by one vote from lifeofjason.

She was a strong competitor and well loved. Goodbye Helly, you shall be missed.
