I'm not sure why the original version of the post didn't save correctly.   The prompt is "All the Fixins" for those who may have missed it!

There's an option to sit out though, if the schedule is a little too tight.  https://therealljidol.dreamwidth.org/1090445.html

For those wondering - YES, production was aware that bleodswean was leaving the game *before* the votes were cast.  But we went through it anyway, because it was going to be interesting to see what would have happened.  And yes, it was...

I'm considering a Survivor: LJ Idol reunion show after the season is over to give everyone the chance to talk openly and freely about what happened during the course of this season! I know there are a ton of stories!

I may reveal the votes there.  :)

6 players remain.  If there are any hidden immunity idols in the game, the last time for anyone to play them is at 5.

We are getting into the nitty gritty part of the game, in a modern Survivor season, most of the time the 2 hour finale episode STARTS with 6 contestants left.  (in the old days it was at 4, then went to 5 and now...)

The generous benefactor (no, not Sia) donated that $100 in Amazon gift cards to split up between the top 4.  So there are only 2 more eliminations to go before you are guaranteed to walk away with something.  (Well, I don't have those in my hand right now, so it's a "guarantee", but if that falls through I'll see what I can personally do... but I have good reason to think it will happen)

How are you holding up?

Back on the mainland, things have been crazy. But I hear today is the Super Bowl.  It's the Bucs vs the Chiefs. I live in the Tampa Bay area, but don't really like the Bucs.  :D

Yes!! I would LOVE a Survivor Idol Reunion Show! Especially if people would be willing to reveal who they voted for on certain weeks. I'm so dang curious!!

Back on the mainland, I was trying to get Ellie to nap and my husband decided to burn down our house. He claims he didn't but the fire alarm went off for the first time since we moved in and it was SO LOUD. It also screams out 'Fire! Fire! Fire!' so I guess we know it works.

We're going to watch the Super Bowl but I don't care about either team really so I don't know who we're rooting for. Hopefully a good game and of course awesome commercials, which is always the most important part! (I do really like football, but I'm a college football girl and not NFL.)

Trying to get a kid to nap reminds me of that funny-for-adults spoof book: https://www.amazon.com/Go-F-Sleep-Adam-Mansbach/dp/1617750255/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=Go+the+fuck+to+sleep&qid=1612735034&sr=8-1
I can't get my grandkid (HoneyB) to nap for anything. LOL

KFP stopped napping at about age 2. I miss those naps! I, however, still need naps.

Our fire alarm doesn't scream "fire," but it's still very unpleasant and seems to go off whenever my husband is making a particularly complicated meal.

Happy Superbowl to those who celebrate. I have family in Tampa, but honestly, I am neutral. I am in it for the ads and the 1/2 Time Show. (In other years I would be in it for the social aspects, but...) The Hub and I have carry out dinners from the local Bob Evans (It's an Ohio thing, but their turkey dinner is AMAZING, just saying.) I have school work to try to get ahead on tonight. My co-worker, K's grandson is having brain surgery this week. He is only 3 and seriously disabled, so any best vibes, prayers, etc you can send the better. It's a pretty dire situation, but the little boy's mom and dad want to try every chance they can and not give up just yet, so... It also means that I need to stay totally focused at work and keep ahead because if K misses, I get her hours plus my own and a bigger workload besides just my own. My 1st COVID shot is this coming Friday, so yay for that. It's one small step in the right direction for both my personal bubble of significant others and the world in general.

Gary, I (for once) had no probs seeing your other post,(at least not on my desktop, but I have not tried w my phone). Can you both write AND still enjoy this amazing buffet? (asks with mouth full of cocktail shrimp and cookies)

Back off, Buster! You leave me and my hallucinatory banquets alone. Let's not forget imaginary food has no calories. :-P

I would love a reunion, but I will never reveal my votes--ever! You can threaten me, you can torture me, but a secret ballot is a secret ballot. Unless some wacky camera guy is filming over your shoulder in which case...Lawyer!

I actually did somehow miss the original prompt post - and I spent most of the day thinking, "Gosh, it's not like Gary to give us this long of a break before getting back to the torture!"

I'm waffling over whether or not I'll submit an entry or enjoy the buffet; I always told myself if I was playing real Survivor, I'd never allow myself to give into temptation over a shot at individual immunity, but at the same time, I'm STILL under the weather, and a little break might be nice. :)

I'm glad you decided to compete. I'm going to be working on mine today. Love the prompt!

Hope you start to feel yourself again. It's been dragging on a while.

I know! I was feeling better over the weekend, but I went on a long hike on Saturday and it just wiped me out for the rest of the day and on Sunday. :/ I think I'm just experiencing the after-effects of that, because I don't feel sick, just really like I want to go straight to bed after work. It's just hard to focus and be motivated when I'm feeling so worn out.

I think you're right. We often push ourselves too soon and too hard after a flu, forgetting how much it can take out of us. It takes a while to build the body up again. :-)

Late to the party, sorry! I was feeling kind of morose this weekend...

So, Gary, I'm trying to figure out what the advantage of competing IS. Would any immunity that is won be applied to the next round? Or the round for the prompt itself?

If it's like how they do it on Survivor, then it's just a choice - basically he's giving us the option of taking a bye, but then there's no chance of getting immunity if you do that. Let's say everyone but me and adoptedwriter sit out (since we've submitted already), then my assumption would be the poll would be between just us two and whoever wins gets immunity.

That's what I assumed to, but then there's no benefit to it! You're better off not writing at all!

I'm still trying to pull myself out of my funk, so the respite is welcome. :D

Arrrgh!
