Our Friend Rejeneration

 That Green Room was supposed to be the last entry I wrote as a 52 year old. But I just saw something a few minutes ago and I need to process it. The only way I can do that is here. With you... which means I'm not going to make much sense, but I hope somewhere in there you can understand what I mean...

I just saw that one of the "early adopters" of LJ Idol passed away on September 13th. Her sister posted from her Facebook account today, but I saw that she's been tagging her in things over the last few days. I must not have seen them.

Saying that Rejeneration/ jenwithapen  is "legendary" or "one of the first names I wrote down for the All Stars season" would not even begin to do justice.  "Incredible" writer is what people knew, what what most didn't is that she was always working professionally - including on some projects at Netflix. 

I talked to her a couple times on the phone and she was just so warm and supportive - always looking for ways to help Idol, and me.  During the DW transition she even stepped up and became my assistant for awhile, so you should definitely recognize her name from the Green Rooms. 

She was the one who bought Idol a permanent account over on Livejournal. That was a big part of why I kept it going for as long as I have... because of that level of support, and belief in what we were doing here.  She was the one that I was working with to get Idol its own domain/site set up so that we wouldn't be held to DW/LJ.., it never got off the ground but she had been pressing for it for YEARS... 

Fantastic friend. Above and beyond supporter. Absolutely amazing writer. She was all of these things, and those just touch the surface.  

I'm sure I'll have more to say later, once I reflect, but for right now...

I just went through my emails and the last line that I will ever hear from her Is "Lemme know if you wanna talk! I'm always here doll!"

I just saw the news on FB too. I hadn’t talked to her much recently, but she was such a nice person and always so positive, I don’t think I ever heard her talk poorly about anyone. I’ll miss her.

I remember her so well! She was such a wonderful, caring person. I'm so sorry she's gone, I pray she didn't suffer. My sympathy to her loved ones.

This is very very sad. Such an incredibly brilliant writer and what she brought to Idol was above and beyond. Her comments and replies to comments were day making. I'm so sorry to hear this.

Oh, no-- not Jen. :(

She was who got me into Idol to begin with, back in Season 8. We shared a fandom, and she suggested Idol as an inspiration to write more. She never played as often (or as long) as I would have liked, but she wrote terrific entries and made it all look easy.

And what a fantastic job she always did guest-hosting the Green Room! She was such a fun, enthusiastic, supportive, and deeply sweet person. And much too young to lose. :(

I'm just seeing this. This is terrible news. I only knew her through LJ and lj idol, but I enjoyed her writing and her comments on others' work.
