We are a go in the next couple of weeks!

Because this is a mini-season like no other...

As is standard for a mini season, there will be a $5 donation per contestant. However, as part of the Patreon incentives, anyone signing up a $5 level has the option of getting a "+1 entry" for anyone who signs up for that before Nov 1st. Which is essentially a BOGO deal. :) https://www.patreon.com/user?u=70027&ty=h (or follow the Patreon link on the main page)

Date: 2015-10-30 03:35 pm (UTC)Monies help keep us from having to run a 5-6 month mini-season with 300 people. There are people who would do Idol all day every day for free who wouldn't for $5.
They also help me pay for things that need to be paid for. (Last time around it was kick starting my life with helping with an engagement ring. This time it's a dental bridge. Which is far less exciting. But definitely life-altering or at least restoring)

I probably could have paid for it with my severance check from my old job BUT I needed that to make sure all of my bills were paid. As is, thanks to that and unemployment (oh, and an unexpected check from my Father) , I was able to get through that gap without missing any payments. (no extra money, but it got me through)
Yeah, I actually *do* have a new job now. Oddly enough, I wouldn't be starting this if I didn't... I'd have more *time*, but I also would be needing to devote that time toward finding a job. My new benefits don't kick in until the middle of next month though. (again, I'm realizing that I've said this in the new FAQs which no one except myself has read, because I'm still working on them! :D)
My birthday was pretty good. Thanks for asking! :)

besides, i recently had something of a falling out with the one person i know who says they want to become a writer -- as in they wouldn't accept my paying for their entry fee right now. then again, the last time i told this person about lji they came up with a zillion excuses as to why they wouldn't be able to find the time to participate...

(Not that I think anyone *would* then cancel payment - getting two admissions for free, but why take that chance?)
