It’s the start of Week 27 in the internet version of the Trail of Tears or Bataan Death March!

Which may sound like an horrible and inappropriate comparison, until you start hearing people talk about how long “27 Weeks seems to them”! ;)

Then it would sound like an understatement! The best thing about it though is that it’s voluntary! Which just makes it extra cruel and twisted! People actually sign up for the treatment!! :D

What I find interesting about this current field – well, one of the many things that I find interesting at least – is how people match up. Once in awhile, someone will break out of the top of the pack. But then they will eventually fade back into the middle as someone else surges ahead.

Some of that is buoyed by the two Topsy Turvys that are out there. But you saw it even before they were.

This is working into a season where I can look at the field and not be entirely sure who is going to have what it takes to the prize this season! Which is exciting!

Greetings from Albuquerque, NM! What a long, strange trip it's been so far! Enjoyable, but long - kinda like Idol tends to be, even though for me - in my five seasons - this was my shortest season yet. But it is what it is.

Hubby and I and our Roaming Gnome will be heading out to visit another ghost town up near Santa Fe today, along with a movie studio tour. Yesterday on our way here we visited Meteor Crater - 50,000 years old, 550 feet deep, and 4000 feet across. We also went through Winslow, AZ and took a photo of one of the Wigwam Motels along the way, which had 1950's vintage cars in front of the wigwams. It was very cool!

Oooo! That's Bugs Bunny's place to make a wrong turn! Better check the map carefully.

What's a Wigwam Motel?

Glad you're having fun! :)

Re: Wigwam Motel - have you seen the movie "Cars"? Lightning McQueen stays in Radiator Springs at a little motel where all of the individual "rooms" are shaped like traffic cones. It's like that, only in real life the traffic cones are actually wigwams (ie: teepees). Most of the imagery for the movie is based upon real scenery along Route 66 outside of Holbrook, AZ and Gallup, NM.

Oh how cute! I did see the movie, and I thought the traffic cones were great. :)
