Results - Week 29

Grab a seat, a piece of paper, a pen, an abacus, string, a couple of darts and some paper towels. Because you are going to need them.

This is where I usually talk about how proud everyone should be for getting here - but let's be frank, you should know that by now.

The people here are the Top 8 out of a field of 261!! That is saying it all right there! They were 8 amazing entries, and somehow we had to get down to 6 this week! That's not a task, that is a hardcore challenge for people to chose their favorites out of this crowd!

Now of course comes the part where I tell you something you probably already know, joeymichaels used one of his two immunity tokens to save himself. Which means he is advancing to the next round.

What even the Jury didn't know when they were submitting the name of who they wanted to give immunity to this week was that they were in fact handing out two immunities this week! You know, just to make things a little more interesting. Don't worry though Jury, I still have a very interesting duty for you next week!

The two contestants who received immunity were: java_fiend and mstrobel!

Congratulations to both of you! That means that those two are safe from the vote as well.

Which leaves us with a field of 5 possible contestants left for consideration, and 2 of them leaving us.

That means that yachiru is going. . . ah, but wait. . . I have an email right there that says something different.

I have someone who believes in her work so much that he is willing to throw himself on the sword instead!!

Given where we are in the competition - that sort of loyalty and admiration - I will admit that I'm a little at loss for words, especially since there were actually two of those contestants vying for the right to do that for her.

That says a lot right there.

So, we instead say goodbye to her apparent champion, alephz instead.

We have one more to lose, and in true Hunger Games fashion (to be honest, I haven't read it, but I assume this is the sort of thing that could ever well happen) we are saying goodbye to the_vernacular as well.

Two top notched writers, and people - leaving the competition and joining the Jury, to make the biggest decision a Jury has ever been given!

It was a lot of fun! I am just disappointed that these last few weeks didn't seem to have as many event type things as last year, cause that's what I wanted to stick around for. Last year had lots of team-ups!

Nah, I expected Gary would do things differently than last year. I mean, I don't think he did those cool intersections in the top ten-ish prior to season 6 (not that I've checked, but people seemed to be surprised by those twists).

I'm hanging out for the 5 topic week, though XD And the "favourite entries" topic, because I think that one is a common one that comes up sometime soon.

I didn't expect intersections again but I was hoping for neato assignments, if you know what I mean. I liked the week where we had to revise, that was awesome! I want more of that.

If there's another 5 topic week, I fully plan to home game every single one of them. I'm wanting to home game everything right up until the end. I mean, I've even been doing two home game entries per topic since being voted out. I just think it's a lot of fun. And I don't want to break out of the habit of regular writing just because I'm no longer in the game either.

There'll probably still be something else interesting in store soon. I'm excited to find out what, possibly because I'm not competing ;)

Wow. I'm glad java_fiend is safe, and mstrobel though I was pretty sure she was safe. Sad as hell to see the_vernacular go, and awed and humbled by alephz's sacrifice. That's inspiring and awesome. I'm happy yachiru got saved, too, because wow, her entry this week was phenomenal.

Bummer. Tea wrote my favorite entry of the week and I would have loved to see her go further. I'm not usually big on fiction, but her work is different for me. There's something very playful about so much of it that is really refreshing.

It's not just a bummer about saying farewell to two awesome friends, though. It's a bummer to be saying goodbye to two amazing competitors. Tea and Aleph are awesome, genuine, talented, and kind people with tons of class. You guys rock.

Gary knows this, but I've never really been in it to win it, I've always been in it to play, so the longer I get to play, the better, but you would have a boring final if I got to it because I'd probably forfeit :-P

I wish I had stuck around for another week because we had some Sekrit Plans over in District 12, but I guess this means yachiru just has to be our Mockingjay. <3

alephz is one of the most genuinely awesome people I know. I love him to death. News at 11.

So I spent a little time trying to think of something to say here that would be as awesome as the feeling this post gave me.

Can't do it. I spend most of my day being a cynical fuck because of where I work and this made me weep a little inside. It's nice to be reminded every once and a while how genufuckingly awesome people can be. It filled me up.

I'll miss the fantastic things alephz writes for idol. I know that blueface icon means I'm going somewhere I've never been before.

I'll miss the beautiful things the_vernacular writes for idol. I know I'm learning something important there. Even if I don't understand everything. ^^

Wow what a crazy week. I held my breath doing this. Good job to the jury. I was a bad girl and didn't do my jury duty this week because it was a rough week but I highly approve of the decision made. As far as saying goodbye, it's hard to say goodbye to anyone at this point.
