Will you step up to the challenge of the optional topic or take a pass? http://community.livejournal.com/therealljidol/406108.html

That seems to be what all the kids are talking about these days!

You know how they are, jabbering away with their beatnik lingo.

Next thing you know they are throwing on black turtlenecks and snapping their fingers. You just can't stop them once they get rolling.

***

But enough about them, what about you?

What are you doing?
What are you NOT doing?
What is the person over there doing, and shouldn't they be wearing a safety harness?

Ah, watching that at age 7-ish may have been the first time my sexuality got touched. My gateway drug into thinking "Girls are purty." Which I knew by age 8. (I knew by age 9 that "girls are purty with their clothes off.")

The signs were there. I didn't quite heed them until later (like when I had my first crush in sixth grade, when I was 12), but yes, signs, signs that amuse me to see them when I look back now.

(A cousin of mine didn't really realize she was into women until she was 22. AFTER COLLEGE. Poor woman, missing out on all those hot college girls...but she can say that she wasn't just "lesbian for four years at college"! *grins*)

Oh, for me it was the back cover of "Beauty and the Beat" where they're in tubs covered (mostly) in bubbles. I thought, uummmm, I think I like this way more than I'm supposed to!

It was Susanna Hoffs and Debbie Gibson that touched my inner-boyness and made me think about girls in a whole new way. :-)
