Will you step up to the challenge of the optional topic or take a pass? http://community.livejournal.com/therealljidol/406108.html

That seems to be what all the kids are talking about these days!

You know how they are, jabbering away with their beatnik lingo.

Next thing you know they are throwing on black turtlenecks and snapping their fingers. You just can't stop them once they get rolling.

***

But enough about them, what about you?

What are you doing?
What are you NOT doing?
What is the person over there doing, and shouldn't they be wearing a safety harness?

I'm getting ready to head to bed. Not first in the GR, but close! Sleep well, folks... see ya on the flip side!

Probably not going to write on the optional topic, but if some wonderful idea whaps me upside the head, you never know!

Haven't decided if I'm writing or not. Will see if I am inspired. Am curious as to what happens if only one person in a given tribe writes? OR will Gary combine all the entries?

Whatever happens, my decision will be based on inspiration (or lack thereof), not strategy.

As for what I am doing, I made delicious banana muffins today! nomnomnom.

Great, now I've got the Go-Go's running rampant through my head.

"We got the beat, we got the beat, we got the beat, yeah... we got the beat!"

I look terrible in turtlenecks but I can snap my fingers with the best of them!

I'm reading but not writing.
Planning but not telling.
I know what that person's doing and I wish I were doing it too!

TTFN, kids! XOXO!

I should know to expect a GR at any time these days, but it still surprises me to see them at night...

The optional topic intrigues me...I'm really curious as to the catch. I'd probably be crazy enough to participate, but I won't be home till late tomorrow (well in the evening) and I'll work all day Wednesday. So more than likely, there won't be an entry from me. I wish there could be in a way, though it also scares me in a way...

I'm so excited to see [livejournal.com profile] java_fiend tomorrow!

I wonder the same thing about what if only one person in a tribe participates... Or if they will be moved around. It intrigues me and I wish I could write (mainly because the thrill of writing for the game is so great for me, not because of strategy.)

Great...now I have it in my head from your comment!

And it makes me want to play Rock Band sooooo bad!

I'm taking a break this week. Reading library books, watching Netflix, doing some yoga... avoiding baking cakes, although I will be looking at my two new beautiful baking books that I got for Christmas.

Ah, watching that at age 7-ish may have been the first time my sexuality got touched. My gateway drug into thinking "Girls are purty." Which I knew by age 8. (I knew by age 9 that "girls are purty with their clothes off.")

Will you step up to the challenge of the optional topic or take a pass?

I can't believe that I'm even being asked this question.

I have had one position on this issue. One single, consistent position, that has never wavered. And that position can be summed up in four short words, which can be found behind this link (http://ellakite.livejournal.com/289349.html).

And people call me "indecisive"...

The signs were there. I didn't quite heed them until later (like when I had my first crush in sixth grade, when I was 12), but yes, signs, signs that amuse me to see them when I look back now.

(A cousin of mine didn't really realize she was into women until she was 22. AFTER COLLEGE. Poor woman, missing out on all those hot college girls...but she can say that she wasn't just "lesbian for four years at college"! *grins*)

I got this one (http://www.amazon.com/Baked-Frontiers-Baking-Matt-Lewis/dp/1584797215/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1293333017&sr=8-1) and this one (http://www.amazon.com/Baked-Explorations-American-Desserts-Reinvented/dp/1584798505/ref=pd_bxgy_b_img_b) which are just absolutely gorgeous. :D

I am intrigued by the new topic but think I will be too busy to submit anything. Clues tell me someone not being eliminated might get to bring someone back into the game ;)

Oh, these are gorgeous and so tempting. definitely going on the wish list.

You can never have too many baking books, right?

I know, I rarely go to bookstores these days, but we walked through B&N one day and one of those was on the shelf... the photos and the details were just so pretty that it went on my wishlist (the recipes sounded good, too! haha). And then my partner surprised me with the prequel as well!

I don't have tooo many baking books, surprisingly... I mostly just decide what I want to make and then make up a recipe. :D

I'm not quite proficient enough to make up my own, but I'll often research the net and combine recipes. :)

I also glom up the cookie magazines at the holidays for ideas. :)

I am working on my entry!

Of course I made a mistake with part of my entry that I will have to fix tomorrow, because it's bedtime now!

Anyway, yes, I am going to take the risk. I think it is a fun idea, I have a perfect subject for my entry that I'm having fun writing about, and I like it better than the open topics!

I reserve the right to...I don't know, do something drastic if I end up in a tribe with only [livejournal.com profile] joeymichaels and [livejournal.com profile] talonkarrde88 or something.

Yeah, some things I have to look at online before I can make up a recipe. In that case, I'll look at six or eight recipes, close all the windows, and then start. Hahaha. Most of the time it's awesome, but I made a pretty awful batch of cookies the other week. It happens occasionally.

I think if I didn't have any fibro fog or lyme brain or anything, I'd have more of my go-to recipes totally memorized. I could probably fake it if I had to, but before I was as sick as I am now, I probably could have had the whole thing completely memorized, down to a half teaspoon of salt, ya know?
