It's a special "Black Friday" edition of the Green Room. Nice and early for those people waiting for the sales to start, or people who haven't gone to bed yet. Or, you know those people who live "elsewhere".

I've often wondered about this "elsewhere" place. Is it nice? ;)

Just to be serious for a moment. (Don't worry, it won't last)

There is one thing that want to say on the subject of "thanks giving".

Thank you to everyone who has come out over the years for Idol. I've heard people tell me what it has come to mean to them, and how much they get it out of it.

I just want to be clear - what *I* get out of it is knowing that you feel that way. It's what has kept this little idea going over the seasons, over the years.

I hope Idol can do for you what all of you do for me.

So, um, yeah - what sort of deals are you looking for today? Any good sales? I do know that Record Store Day apparently also is today, so get out there and support your independent record stores! Also a lot of locally run businesses are offering specials over the weekend. If you don't want to support the "Big Guys" it's always the right time to support local artists!

(Man, I should be working on commission here! :P)

The more I read about it, the happier I am to live somewhere where this "Black Friday" does not exist. But then I hate crowds and shopping in crowds so I likely wouldn't go anyway :)

Crowds are evil. I've been in one once shortly and will do everything I can to avoid ever getting near them again.

Crowds are *awesome*. I love going into them and just people watching!!! :)

I think my hatred of crowds stems from too many German Christmas markets when I was just the right height to be eye-level with cigarettes and gluhwein. But you are right about people watching, one of the best sports in the world.
