How is everyone doing with the first prompt?  I haven't heard too much crying, but that could just be because I've long since learned to tune out your suffering!  ;)

I'm crying. I can't even make a joke about my "low quality" writing. I've got nothin' except a 13 hour time difference that I'm counting on to get my first entry up before the deadline.

I wrote out a first draft. I did the second draft yesterday. I may be posting it today after another read through. Very timely topic IMO since I'm currently witnessing a lot of what people mean by *quality* where I live.

I've actually started writing mine, which is shocking considering most times I write it within 24 hours of the deadline. So yay me! Going for lighthearted fiction this time in contrast to this depressing world we live in so hopefully people will like it.

i had to cut my drafting/fixing it time short so i could record it yesterday morning. i had dental surgery and was totally unsure how much that would put me down and for how long. i was right about one thing, for sure, i could not have done my recording now... it hurts to be expressive.

(oh and the surgery went well, just healing hurts like hell...)

it's my 2nd implant and bone graft.

I have 5 implants and have had bone grafts with all of them. So I can totally understand your pain!

oof. i'm sorry. it's no fun. my first one failed and had to be redone. so i'm nervous.
but i know the signs this time...so.... **crosses fingers**

The worst was the implants for my 2 upper molars. The periodontist had to do a sinus lift to accommodate the implants. That was weird and I looked Like I lost a serious fight for several days.

Yikes, sorry for the after surgery pain, but glad it went well, and that you got your entry recorded. Recorded entries are generally lots of fun, so I'm looking forward to that.

(hugs) Very sorry to hear that. For me, it sometimes helps to not think about the prompt at all, and just jot down various story ideas. What has you inspired, what has you pissed (other than Gary LOL), what family or work episode have you been thinking a lot about? You're brilliant, I know you can do it! (grin)

I'm nearing the end of writing mine, and LOL, dunno if anyone else will enjoy reading it. I decided on nonfiction to open the season, so we'll shall see how it goes.

The week 1 prompt is going reasonably well. This time, instead of no ideas worth writing down, I've been playing with three, and although they're at different stages of development, I think I'll probably end up using all of them at some point. I have finally decided on the one for this week--at least I think so--and it's probably a third of the way finished. :)

I hope everyone else's writing is equally productive.

I just got signed up late last night and given that the deadline for the first prompt is less than 3 hours away, I don't have time to put together a "quality" entry. I'd rather just take a bye than rush to put something together that will get me booted in week one.

It sucks--I'd rather not have to take a bye--but it is what it is.

One thing that hasn’t changed over all the years of blogging- my ability to go off-task and fall down a hole of reading other corners of the ‘net instead of writing my own stuff. But I think I got something posted in time so as not to miss the first prompt like last mini season!
