Given that there is no guarantee on how many votes could come in between now and then, there is no one who is safe. If I had to guess, I'd say there were maybe 2 in that "I'd be shocked if they went home". But again, the votes could still come in and would cause that. So I don't feel safe letting anyone off the hook at this point.

Last night I indicated that I would respond to a question I'd been asked. I have the answer. It might not be what the people asking wanted *exactly*, but it's what I'm offering.
The question was "Can I purchase a bye?" It's happened before. Once. This is a slightly different scenario, but there is precedent for it, other than the Patreon deal.
Currently, regular byes are scheduled to expire with the Top 30. Patron byes are good until the Top 20 and those Thanksgiving byes are good until the Top 25.
That's a bunch of different kinds of byes with different ending dates. So I'm going to extend ALL of them to the Top 20. That should make it a little easier on your brains.
But that doesn't answer the question I've been asked: If I'd be willing to make extra byes available.
After thinking about, I would be willing to do so. With a catch. I want these to be special. So *they can not be used until after Second Chance starts*, BUT they are the only byes eligible to be transferred or used IN Second Chance. You get voted out and come back into Second Chance? You still have THESE BYES! (Patron byes can be used by people not in the competition, but not during Second Chance) They are good until the Top 20.
I'm thinking of them as your Golden Ticket, so that's what I'm calling them: Golden Ticket byes.
I was bouncing around prices, and what I think is fair is $10/per bye with a limit of 2. The price seems steep, but the power could be huge in the game. (and also, the Patrons don't become eligible to be their Patron Bye to give away until their second month, so it's really the same price) The reason that I'm willing to do this? The money is going into the Purse, so it's going toward the money that the Final 4 will be splitting. I'm hoping to put a little more into that end game pot!
You can keep, or transfer, these byes. (so, yes, to spell it out - you can bye them as a gift to another person - the perfect gift for your favorite writer who has everything, except a shot at staying in the game!)
