I'm home sick today. So those of you who saw the first topic https://therealljidol.dreamwidth.org/998324.html - congratulations! Your wish came true!

In case it's escaped your attention (it definitely escaped mine) - Wolfenoot is taking over the world! It's the newest holiday sensation https://www.facebook.com/events/2133001853619644/ and most importantly, it was created by the 7 year old son of A LONG TIME IDOL CONTESTANT!

That's right, what have YOUR kids been doing lately? Creating any viral holidays? Isn't it time to put those slackers to work making you famous? If you don't have kids - what has your partner been doing? No partner? What has your cat/dog been doing? OK, if it's a cat we know what it's been doing, secretly running the world.... and if it's a dog, we know it's gearing up to celebrate Wolfenoot!!

Sign Ups are still open until Friday - so keep mentioning it to friends/enemies/friends of enemies: https://therealljidol.dreamwidth.org/996363.html

You never know, signing up for this might be what it takes to make a close family member (or yourself) internet famous!

First!

Got not kids, got not pets, but my teddy bear fell-out of bed last night and is refusing to speak to me.

That would depend on whose story you believe. His is, of course, that he was pushed. Mine is a bit fuzzy as I was asleep at the time.

His recollection might be a bit fuzzy based on the nature of teddy bears in general. :)

My kids, unfortunately, are growing up and doing college things. Someone should invent a "pause" button to freeze time.

Yes! My baby girl is thirteen. I miss the cuddles. Of course the conversations are fascinating, but the cuddles were adorable.

Wolfenoot is an awesome idea!

Our cat is wandering the house and howling, when she's not sleeping in the upstairs playroom where her Boy's stuff was last assembled before he went back to college again. SO sad.

Maybe she's doing her howling so we don't have to? \o?

Aww! That is a one-Hour cat. Poor thing. And comforts to the humans too.

He feels so guilty leaving her (and us, too). He leaves his bedroom door open with a baby-gate blocking the entrance, so she can still look in there and see that he's no there. As opposed to, behind a closed door and just ignoring her.

And yes, we still have a baby-gate. We've used those on and off for trying to keep the cats out of the upstairs. Until it became hopeless...

(First a small rant: When I wrote my comment I mentioned a one-human cat. How Auto-correct turned that into a one-Hour cat is beyond me. Just saying.)

Poor kitty! Now I have the image of a mourning cat on the wrong side of a baby-gate. It is kind to let her see he's not there. Poor thing!

Aww! My mom would send me pictures of my kitty sitting outside my bedroom door at home when I was away at college and I'd feel so bad! I'd never felt like he was THAT attached to me until I left.

Yikes, your Mom. How sad!

We knew the Boy was our cat's main human long before he left. In fact, when we thought about it, the reason we have her is because she picked him at the shelter. The grownups were looking at and petting other cats, and she got right on our son's lap and started her loud, trilling purr.

She had him hooked from the get-go. ;)

Wolfenoot was featured on Boing Boing! I'm surprised it escaped your attention, Gary. :)

We will probably celebrate here. Any excuse to make a cake, right?

I've started writing! Yay! I'm not sure what I'm writing! Also yay!

Wolfenoot sounds like an incredibly awesome celebration. I'm more of a cat person but we have always had dogs, and most of them were rescues. The newest is a Bluetick Coonhound and might be the perfect dog. The cat is currently not attacking and killing anyone and is in fact sleeping quite peacefully and contented on the huge cat tree we got her. She hated it a first, but a fleece blanket has brought her around.

My kids are all grown. The last finally turned 21 in September. I am not suffering from empty nest syndrome. He still lives with us. I am begging for empty nest. I don't think it will ever happen. He may or may not be the subject of many of my entries this season.

Hope you feel better soon, Gary!

Wolfenoot is so cool, my friend is totally going to host a celebration at her place, and invited me! Can't wait!

Now I think it's even more amazing, knowing it was invented by an LJ Idoler's kiddo!!! That is the best! Was it any of the Idol Minor contestants?

My child has been recovering from a cold, watching someone's comic-dub turned movie on youtube of the Undertale characters, and planning his own Undertale Halloween costume. He's also invited me to do some youtube streams with him, so he actually is trying to make us internet famous, haha!!

No kitties for now, which is an odd, unusual thing for me. The longest period of time I didn't have a cat was six weeks in 1999, when I'd first moved out. From birth to now, that had been the only cat free time in my life, until this year, on Feb 1. (RIP, Tails.) It's so weird. Someday it'll be time again for another kitty. Not sure when.

Hubs has been working his ass off and felt stressed as heck.

And tiny dog has been keeping a vigilant eye on our home, in other words - barking at noises he hears outside. So... so (annoyingly) vigilant. Maybe he's listening for guests to Wolfenoot!
