LJ IDOL just did this.

20,000 entries have been created - have been released into the world as a result of Idol. Would they have happened anyway? Maybe. Maybe not. (I know a lot of them probably would not have been) But they didn't.

I wasn't originally thinking there would be a Week 0, so I told people to expect us to hit this mark in Week 1. But when I pushed back the sign-up deadline, I wanted something else for folks to do. But the "we will hit that!!!" never entered my mind.

I'll admit I was holding my breath a bit when I realized we hit it during *Introductions*. Because some of them can be a bit brief and folks don't always "know what to say".

When I saw which one it was going to be I went "Yeah, I can work with that!" :)

I should say so... I would even go so far as to say about that particular entry that it's worthy of being considered a flagship piece for what it means to be a writer here. I wouldn't imagine that's what voidandblank had in mind when writing it, but I'd certainly be happy to let it speak for me, as I found myself nodding in agreement and giving three cheers when I first read it... I wouldn't be surprised if others felt the same way. For this entry, especially, and for 20,000 others... Hip, Hip, Hooray!
