Green Room - Week 38 - Day 2
Feb. 18th, 2015 10:01 amOne day to go.
Do you know where your Champion is? http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/838956.html
If you had to select a Champion, someone to stand for you, in Real Life - who would it be and why?

Date: 2015-02-18 03:22 pm (UTC)Now that I've got my champion sorted out, I feel much better about it. Still --it was awkward to call someone up out of the blue and tell them, "Hey, you need to create an LJ account. And write a really great story. In two days."
IRL, my champion would be my SO. For the usual reasons.

Date: 2015-02-18 06:38 pm (UTC)I would have a hard time choosing a Real Life champion. I think my friend Deanna, who stopped me from flailing yesterday and reminded me that other people are happy to step up for me if I need it, is at the top of the list right at the moment. Asking people for things is hard. And sometimes I have to accept the current theme of things being 'challenges' and do the hard things and get the hell over it. Heh.
It's funny, the double standard I have with regards to asking for things - I think it's just awful to bother people and ohgosh I don't want to impose and it's an awful lot of pressure to put on someone and everyone is so busy and I'd rather just do everything myself so no one else has to worry about it and ugh. While simultaneously thinking that I'd be there in a heartbeat for my friends, or my acquaintances, or even random strangers if they needed me. No complaints, no worries. I think maybe it's time to start getting over that.

Date: 2015-02-18 07:16 pm (UTC)He's my partner-in-crime in life. We get into trouble together, sure... But that's part of the fun. I know he's always there to help me out of trouble too.

Date: 2015-02-18 08:21 pm (UTC)As far as an IRL champion, though...man. I'd like to think I'd pick my significant other, and while he's good at lots of things, we have a lot of overlap in skills, and I'm not sure how useful that would be.
...so I'd probably pick my friend Royce. He's got the artistic talent, he's physically fit, and he's a PhD candidate, so I know he's smart.
...plus his wife would laugh immensely. :3

Date: 2015-02-18 11:21 pm (UTC)(And it's frankly hard to come up to someone on FB and say, hey, can you commit to doing a piece of world-class writing in 48 hours, oh and also sign up for a site to do it? Specifically, the site that is a Ye Olde Internet Punchline to social media the way AOL is to ISPs?) :)

Date: 2015-02-19 01:43 am (UTC)I love my wife.
But my champion is George R.R. Martin (http://grrm.livejournal.com/).
I think my wife will respect this decision.

Date: 2015-02-19 02:44 pm (UTC)IRL now my Champion would be my friend Becky, she's smart, funny, knows where I hid the bodies and would never turn me in to the coppers!
After that I would have to say my daughter. I'd love to say my hubby but his Multiple Sclerosis has turned ME into his Champ-een! (Which is quite ok- most times)
