The poll closes tomorrow night: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/809247.html and given that people are going to be leaving from both the public poll *and* the contestant only one - we are looking at some potentially huge shifts in this game when the results are announced.

At least if what I am seeing at the moment can be believed.

(Granted, that probably depends on what you personally think would be a "huge shift"!)

Regardless of the outcome though, it's going to be a shot to the gut to lose so many people at this stage of the competition.

Hopefully, you have gotten your votes in.

You can have one additional way of impacting the results by participating in the Home Game/Killing Floor: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/808357.html

Since this is "Cyber Monday" - you should check out the Idol Store! http://astore.amazon.com/li0cd-20 (or just click there before going to Amazon to buy whatever you were going to buy anyway!)

How was your extended weekend? Did anyone actually finish their Christmas shopping or are you just getting started?

It's weird, because it wasn't that long ago when my Christmas shopping consisted of what to get my cats and just getting through the holidays. I always loved Christmas in general, but it was still a sad and lonely time that reminded me of what I didn't have.

If there is anyone else in that place right now - and I'm sure there are - reach out to your Idol family! They helped me through some rough patches. I'm sure they will help you as well.

51k and the story is probably 2/3rds of the way complete. Goal is to finish by December 31st.

But dear god I think I wrote the most rambly post ever in my history of LJ after I hit 50k -- I am not allowed to stay up well past my bedtime. =p

I basically wrote miniature Silmarillions for my WIPs, instead of actual novels. So, on the bright side, whether I decide to work on my actual novels or the serials I've been doing here in Idol, I've got a lot of background material handy.

As far as Idol concerns, I am catching up on reading now, leaving comments, catching up on my free online class stuff, and catching up on various neglected chores and trying to get back into the habit of baking bread and making meals etc again.

November was a rough month, okay? =p

Idol Voting - Done and yes, I read every entry...

Christmas Shopping is probably 95% done. I'm not buying anything more online, and am actively deleting a ton of emails advertising "Cyber Monday" sales, though I did get one for a Cyborg Monday sale, which might spur some writing tonight at while I'm at work.

December is ALWAYS a rough month for me. There are a bunch of family birthdays/anniversaries/events in December on top of the regular holiday stuffs and it always adds up to too much. Introverts Unite! (in your own home thank you).

< edit > And super nervous about the polls results, thanks...

Cyborg Sale - was that a ThinkGeek thing? I love their stuff.

My birthday is in December too (the 23rd) so it makes for all sorts of craziness being between Hanukkah and Christmas this year.

Happy Monday. Hard to get back in the routine. I've been involved with " Write-o-book-o", and have made progress, but it's not close to being finished. Too much real life and work. Next job is Xmas cards!

Only 10 more days until this &@#%@#*Q&! cast comes off!

Then we'll see what the future holds...

:cue scary music:

It is very unseasonably warm here today. Of course this means it'll probably be below freezing in two days with snow :p

It's 60 outside right now and tomorrow they're calling for wintry mix.

I don't even know anymore. I am already tired of this season and how it can't make up its mind.

I'm trying to adjust to the silence in the house after having the spousebeast home for nine whole days. We've NEVER had that much unscheduled alone time that didn't somehow involve relatives. Okay, we had Thanksgiving dinner with his sister, her boyfriend and her dad, but there were drinks in Mason jars and Cards Against Humanity, so that was painless.

Holiday shopping around here is easy. Since the majority of our families are broke, we don't do gifts for extended family. The spousebeast and I decide on one "household" gift (usually concert tickets. This year, we're taking Santa Pete to the Southern Culture on the Skids Christmas show, because nothing says holiday love like getting pelted with fried chicken) and then get each other something small. And stockings because Santa knows we've been mostly good this year. ;)

Selling my first short story made Christmas shopping easy - I just ordered everyone a copy of the book, hahahahaha. Just the kids to go, but I'm waiting for MY first pay (tomorrow!).

To be honest, I have done zero Christmas shopping. Which is weird for me - usually I buy lots of things throughout the year and stash them in secret places (and then forget about and rediscover them repeatedly) and just generally have a glut of gifts to give. I dunno... for whatever reason, I've been feeling a lot less inclined this year, though, and I'm supremely unmotivated even now. Todd has been wanting to not exchange gifts for the holidays for a while now, so I suppose this might be the year to do it...

I had a really nice weekend, even if it wasn't filled with loot for folks or anything like that. Maybe because it wasn't. Heh.

I'm trying to finish reading the last seven entries (it's been hard to get to the reading during the break, for some reason).

I'm kind of wondering why you're woodshedding so many people at once, though. It seems kind of fierce. :(

After we hovered in the mid-fifties for approximately a zillion weeks, it seems like Gary wants to jumpstart us on the path to the finish line!

I've been unemployed since August and have a cash flow of zero, so nobody's getting anything from me for Christmas. :( I could sell something so that I could at least buy for my kid brother, but I don't like clutter so I have very few possessions, and all of them are worth nothing. So it goes.

I've been thinking about applying to a phone sex or text message hotline - some companies are always hiring, and I can make a couple hundred dollars a month, at least - since I'm going to have to buy at least my own textbooks next semester and I can't just quit going to school. I really didn't want to ever do this sort of thing again, but it's a living.
