Green Room - Week 29 - Weekend Edition
Nov. 29th, 2014 12:16 amIn the spirit of "what people want to talk about": Two truths and a lie.
- This week we have a regular poll *and* a contestant only poll going on at the same time: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/809247.html
- There is also a Home Game/Killing Floor happening, where your participation means you get a say in who receives immunity (which could be HUGE this week) http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/808357.html
- You will make it out of December unscathed

So what are two things and a lie about what you are doing this weekend?

Date: 2014-11-29 10:04 pm (UTC)I wish I had a wood stove here. They did when I lived in my grandfather's house as a kid - a cord of wood once a year is less expensive than having to fill that oil tank. And you really lose nothing over burning oil, especially if your house was designed to be heated like this. (Plus, I like to chop wood, it helps me think - me and my brother do the chopping every year anyway, but the fireplace in my parents' house is just an indulgence. That and we'll have at least one snowstorm this year that makes the power inevitably go out.)

Date: 2014-11-30 01:19 am (UTC)We have no air or heat in this house. No need for an air conditioner as summers are mild. A few nights out of the summer you can't sleep upstairs but outside is great! Winters are cold and we do need to heat and use a woodstove. We have our own wood lot and cut and split and burn five cords a season. I love a wood fire but there's no question....that second-hand smoke is an issue. Haven't they discovered now (the ubiquitous and mysterious they) that folks routinely died of lung cancer for centuries and centuries from heating/cooking fires?

Date: 2014-11-30 02:27 am (UTC)Sometimes in summer I just can't get to bed unless I go into the woods and faceplant on a cold rock. The summer before this one was lethal. It should not be like eighty degrees outside at night. (This summer never happened. It was chilly all season. Maybe for a week or two it was hot, but it's only November and I already can't remember any days of summer warmth.)
