Hello! I am happy that I get to see another round of this game. Waiting for the next topic to get the creative juices flowing. Trying to get back in productive mood in terms of work, school, etc.
One, I'm a former journalist. Two, I think it's a duty to be informed via the news medium(s) of ones choice. Three, so if it makes people twist a little? awesome.
I ate a turkey sammich for lunch and now my tummy hurts. Boo.
In other news, I am good. My job is boring, but it pays well. I can't wait to start teaching fitness classes at my gym, though. That will make life a little more fun.
Oooh, current events! This is the Big Apple. There's always something going on in the news here... *thinks hard*
1. Man, that was weird. I got the notification for the green-room post but not the topic post, so seeing the above comment made me confused!
2. In some ways I should be relieved that I'm not participating because, as one friend told me the other day, I live under a rock because I didn't know about the "One Laptop Per Child" program. I have not even turned on my television since I moved to this house in August. The only news I see is stuff that people post as links on Livejournal, usually.
3. Something I have noticed in a lot of LJ Idol posts is that people tack these little editorials and disclaimers onto their posts, either on the beginning, end, or both. I can't think of anyone's off-hand because I see it in lots of entries. Things like finding the time to write the entry or saying, "I wasn't sure what to write at first" etc. Or making apologies for their writing-style because of various factors (ex being sick, working over-time, etc). Keep these things out of your official post. Reserve them for the green room or your other personal journal entries. I like journal entries that can be self-sustaining and not call attention to the fact that it's a writing contest. Too many people make it sound like a homework assignment. Does this make any sense?
4. I am still in my pajamas. I really need to do more with my days off.
I finished my part on two dolls for a doll round robin (It is where 10 artists all work on a doll and eventually it gets back to its owner looking much different then when it left)
Now I am onto a couple of other sewing projects and shortly have to take one of the kids to bowling (They made the High School Team)
On the run. Not unusual for a Tuesday. Car-line, Sam's Club, Tutoring Club, home, Church (for an impromptu meeting of the QPZA finance team).
Congrats to everyone who made the cut!
Percolating the new topic. Meanwhile, I have my bookmark folder emptied out for all the early-achievers (ie, people who writer sooner/faster than I do)l
Yeah, I'm feeling you there, esp. with my final paper due tomorrow and class tomorrow night. We'll see what I can do! It'll be Thursday when I post it.
