My main priority is getting query letters out to agents for my novels.

My real priority will be amateur plumbing to restore order to the bathroom, and painting the second-story windows. (Outside, not inside.)

My first thought on the new prompt was, "Hahahahaha!" And then, "What the hell am I going to write for THAT?!?"

Just in-context, the prompt easily support ruthlessness or cheating.

My poking around the Internet last night also resulted in discovering a Karate Kid fanfic written by Patton Oswalt. Which I read. It didn't touch the slashy vibes I always get between the Cobra Kai coach and Johnny, but it went deeply into muliple areas of weird. Which, from Oswalt, I suppose I should expect. \o?

topic things: weirdly I was channel surfing sometime recently (not a usual habit of mine) and came across the end of Karate Kid which of course I watched. I had such a crush on Daniel.

As for this weekend we're spending at a friends' house to play board games and eat good food. Which means nothing else around the apartment will get done, but sometimes the vacuuming just has to be sacrificed.

Ho, boy. It's going on 4 a.m. now and I've just woken up for a bit. Plans for today: get up in 4 hours', check email, read over one assignment, print out another. Do some work. Go to class. Buy out theatre ticket. Work some more.

It's Saturday morning here and I slept in courtesy of Adam and my six year old (the latter of whom made cereal for all children, and herself. Wow).

This afternoon we're going to the park to meet up with my parents so the children can play, so this morning I'll probably bake something to take with us.

I also need to writewritewrite, and perhaps sit in the sun drinking tea for a little while.

Spring is awesome. I cannot wait for summer.

I went to a funeral. It sucked. Also, they cremated the deceased with a picture of me as a child and two teabags "in case somebody wants to visit", and in retrospect that might have been a threat.

Well, probably not, but it's kind of unnerving seeing yourself being burned alongside a cadaver in effigy. And I have absolutely no idea how to act at a funeral. They're weird. Funeral homes basically construct a building for you to cry in, and fill most of it with stuff to make you cry (old photo albums; sad music; the corpses of your loved ones) and then fill the rest of it with stuff you absolutely will not cry in front of under any circumstances (elderly military veterans; your father).

Funerals generally suck (the very few I was to did) whether you allow yourself to cry or not.

The photo thing was disturbing. I even found them burning my granny's glasses and fake teeth with her disturbing, I don't know what I would've thought about anyone's picture.

I am trying to get No More King's "Sweep the Leg" out of my head thanks to this subject and a great number of times watching various Karate Kid based youtube videos. This has consumed the entire weekend as I lay prone, salivating on the kitchen floor, solemnly muttering monotone "Sweep the leg. You got a problem with that? No mercy."
