I've only read a few of them so far, but fidgety, imafarmgirl, srs_bidness and kittenboo's have really stood out to me.

I'm tired. 6 1/2 hours driving on Friday and 7 hours driving on Monday. I hate driving in high wind and rain! But it was a very pleasant visit to Western PA.

I managed to read ***60*** entries last night, and gave each a ranking between 1 and 5.

I *did not* take the time to comment on everyone (please forgive me) but the goal was reading, not writing at the time.

I will go back and comment on some of them during the vote.

Voting?? Oh, you mean *real* voting. Sheesh. ;-). Hm, NY & VA have elections today so far as I know.

Anyway, I've gotten past the first page of submissions (I put mine in early cos I didn't want to read others before I did mine, but then I thought of how long it took to read the intros, so...I wrote! :-) As others have said, lots of good entries. While all the entries are good so far, there's a few that stand out in my mind (and I can see I'm going to have to take notes, eek) such as the Chieftan's band, the Yellowstone trip, the wild pink bike, and the ghosts and ghoulies in the night...

I read 63 entries over the course of yesterday and I favored about 10 of them.

It seemed like the majority of them were "make them cry" entries. From the comments to other people's entries, it seems that the more poignant entries are a favorite. I have to wonder if it was a bad move to choose such a light-hearted memory to share. Ah well, it's too late to change anything now.

My college magazine-writing teacher used to talk about going to "the bad place" where what you'd written was already perfectly good, but it was actually possible to finesse something to death.
