Green Room - Week 6 - Weekend Edition

Yes, I am working around the house to get things ready for a soon to be 10-year old's slumber party. Just before it starts, I will be sent into exile at a friend's house, so that no one's parents will be nervous about the idea of "the guy who just moved in" being there. So, I do a lot of the cleaning, and get none of the cake! There is something wrong with this scenario! ;)

The more domestic I become, the more that I will have to take it out on YOU. So, yay, at least I have that to fall back on.

I was going to post something about "If the poll closed today, ____ is how much people would be leaving" but then I looked at the numbers, and the outstanding votes still out there, and realized that there was still enough to, in theory, completely flip the poll upside down! Already voted and am sitting here, rethinking each book in my trilogy. I should learn to trust my instinct more. Certain plot points have never really jived with me, and today I spent a lot of time going over them.

Most of them haven't been eliminated, actually. In fact, almost all of them stayed -- but two major things changed that affect how the rest of the story will be told. And I love it. I feel excited again about my books. Though these two major things really will change everything, to some degree.

But I think in the end, I'll have a product I'm truly happy with. And that's what's important, right?

Of course, now I'm wondering how those big changes will affect things in book 3, but I'm not going to worry about that too much right now. I do sense I may vom at you again very soon, so be prepared for it lol. The character arcs now have to fill in a little differently. ;)

That's cool. If I pass out during naptime, just vom at the empty window (I will tell the netbook not to go to sleep) and I will get back to you when I wake up.

I'm kind of wondering if my writing time tomorrow should actually be used as an epic "organize the vom" day instead. If so, please be prepared for more vom, because that is what always happens when I organize. Although this time I may just note the new ideas for later vomming, because this is why none of my old vom ever gets fully organized.

I'll do it if/when the urge strikes. I think the biggies have been taken care of; the underlying character arcs always get vommed/figured out later.

That sounds like a good idea, honestly. You need to get all of that organized (and I need to get mine a little more manageable, too, but with starting things completely over there's less to worry about now, I guess). I'm hoping Evelyn will be able to tell me her thoughts when she comes home tonight.

I'm almost positive she'll love the changes, though. :)

Yeah, I keep meaning to get it organized but instead what happens is every time I start, it just triggers more thoughts on how stuff happens later and later in the book. Which is great, but omg I need to freaking organize the notes I have. I seriously have a novel's worth of notes. :)

The political climate/involvement of the characters (and which side they're on) is changing, except for Mitchel because he was always involved in both the Empire and the Resistance. ;)

I feel this elimintes a lot of the issues I was having with the books in general. :)

The big change with him is how long he's involved with Jazz and his potential feelings for him. Which were getting overhauled in the most recent set of rewrites, anyway. :)

Maaaaaaybe. ;) It's hard to tell with Mitchel -- and he's never going to get a POV chapter so it will be one of those things that are debatable at best, anyway. :)
