Of course, that applies to every contestant who submitted a topic for Exhibit B, those who signed up, those folks cheering from the sidelines and random people walking by while you are reading this!

So really, should it be all that much of a surprise?

It IS interesting though – that of the 4 topics, *3* of them were submitted by CONTESTANTS STILL IN THE GAME.

Or maybe that is just interesting *to me*.

What *isn’t* interesting to me – but I’ll ask anyway, so what are your plans for this weekend?

Oy. What a morning.

Been up more or less since 5:30, when darling toddler Idol decided it was wakey time.

Then we went to story time at the library at 10, where she decided to be a terror. She was trying to pull all of the books off the shelves. She would stomp her feet and scream when I didn't allow her to do so. She tried to pull a book out of the librarian's hands while she was reading to the other children. And during the music time, she went around and pulled instruments away from the other kids (all but one of whom are older than her) and threw them on the floor.

Now I'm finally sitting down with a cup of coffee.

Oh, right, did I mention that all of this happened before I had a chance to have coffee? Yeah...

I think my weekend plans are "cling to last remaining shreds of sanity as tightly as possible."

As for plans, today I'm going hiking, tomorrow morning I'm volunteering at the weekly work-party aboard the brig Pilgrim, and Sunday I'm helping someone with beekeeping, sometihng they strangely insist on paying me for. Sometimes the boundaries between what I do for work and fun are strangely blurred (:

Just wrote a draft up for the tacky topic, but I'm not sure if I'm going to stick with it. It's a funny anecdote, but I'm not sure how well it works as a full story. Might try and revisit my moonshiner girls from a couple weeks ago instead. So that's one part of my weekend. The other part is making more mead with the SO and taking my Dad to the city for a Sunday brunch date! Today's mostly boring; I've got housework up to my ears. Of course I"m in a writing mood!

No idea what to write this week, which doesn't bode well, given how last week went. Sigh. I do actually like the ha-ha prompt, because it could be taken in so many different ways. I'll definitely have to think outside the Wikipedia if I decide to do that one!

No real weekend plans. I'm going to a friend's house to walk her dog this evening, though! That'll be fun. I'm hoping to get a dog once I buy a house, so I'm trying to get practice with them. I'm more of a cat person, but a dog would make better protection (or at least peace of mind) in a house by myself.

I... am feeling angry and frustrated. Oh Wisconsin politics, why do you keep doing this to me? Arrrrrgh raaaaaar grrrrr and other assorted noises of inarticulate rage go here.

Anyway, that's that. Plans for this weekend include writing (ha (not to be confused with ha-ha! See what I did there?) more like flailing about and wishing I could find something, anything, to write for these topics) and um, yeah. Maybe other things? If the flailing and not-writing don't take up too much of my time. Allegedly, we're meeting with the nifty neighbors for board games tonight, but I don't know yet if that's actually happening. I hope we don't play roborally, if we do. While I love some good old fashioned robotic death and destruction, I'm not feeling nearly brain-empowered enough to play well at all and I am feeling grumpy enough that just playing and failing miserably to get anywhere sounds unfun.

A couple of someones are evil, evil I tell you! About once a month the kids go to my MIL's for the weekend. She had to cancel last weekend. I had them all packed and ready to go this morning and got the cancel call for this weekend. So much for the Hubby and I finally getting to see Star Trek. We had bad storms again last night and power went out in the area. Luckily, we only lost ours for 3-4 hours. My SIL's is going to be out for a couple of days. Hence the call for cancel, as the 4 in that house and 2 dogs are all going to MIL's for the weekend. With mine, the MIL would have had 5 adults, 3 kids, and 4 dogs in her small home. Too much.

On Sunday the hubby and I will be flying out to VEGAS for nearly two weeks - we will be there until late Thursday the 27th (I think our flight out leaves at 11:30 pm). W00t!

If any of you folks are in the vicinity of Vegas (we will have a rental car, so are able to drive several hours in any direction) and want to meet up with Agent 99 (that's me - 99 weeks of Idol and counting, except for the Exhibits because they don't count) please let me know!! :)

So yeah, I'll either have to post before we leave on Sunday, or forfeit. I'm going to try to post, but as yet I have no ideas for any of the topics... *sigh*

I had topic hate and rage for a little while, but I think I've come up with a workable idea.

DH will be going to Nebraska to work on the kitchen a little more and I've opted to stay home with the dogs. I'm hoping my son will choose to go (so he can play in the lake) and I will have a nice, peaceful weekend where I can eat cereal and junk food for meals whenever I want and not have to plan ANYTHING! Well, except for writing my entry. :)

I also need to find a nice summer icon to switch to as my default.

I guess I just don't understand the thinking. It still seems like thwarting to me, and that's never my goal!

I see that neither of my topics has come up yet, and maybe they never will! It's hard to know with so few weeks and so many people giving prompts.

You know what I'm missing right now? A work room. Sometimes it's nice to have a dedicated space for poking ideas and complaining specifically about topics and hashing out details and brainstorming.

On that note, let's do that here since we haven't got a there.

How's everyone else coping with the topics? Anyone else find themselves wishing it were just one rather than a choice of four? (Constraints: good for forcing the brain to get to work)

I pretty much know everyone is all ARGH WHAT over these prompts. I know I am. I have one barebones idea, but it looks like it will require a LOT of worldbuilding and background to make feasible, and so far I don't have any characters - just setting. Nor do I have an actual plot. These seem like rather gaping holes at the moment. I turned off the internet earlier, thinking it would rob me of distractions and force me to get to work, but uh, here I am! Whee?

Sometimes I strike it with the perfect idea right off the bat. Other times I have to let things marinate for a day or so. The beauty of the latter is that something usually pops up in my head that I hadn't thought of before (last week was a perfect example). Then there are times when I'm like AAAARGH...

Right now I'm marinating. I'm not even thinking about it because, if I do, I'll start AAAARGHing sooner than I'd like.
