I’m sure that if I tried, I could come up with something clever take on the “news of the day” or just mock the lot of you. But today is a little different for me, because really only one thing is on my mind.

Today is my second anniversary with my girlfriend. Since I can’t seem to wipe the smile off my face, I figured “Why bother trying?”

At the end of what turned out to be our first date, I walked her to her car and she gave me a hug. I remember that hug, and just how amazing it felt. I remember *thinking* how amazing it felt. What I didn’t find out until several weeks later, was that I had actually muttered “Oh my god” OUT LOUD!

Once I found out, her nervous laugh and “You’re so cute” made a lot more sense with the context! : )

What have *you* forgot to use your “inside the head” voice on, and accidentally let out into the universe? What was the reaction?

Oh, and there is a poll or something going on: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/641109.html

Right now he's ignoring me because I'm playing around on LJ. But the second I click over onto my "Surrender the Night" tab, he'll be in my lap in seconds and I'll be forced to type one-handed.

Such is life.

My cat likes to chew the cord for my earbuds while I'm trying to write. Or occasionally try to share my lap with my netbook.

Dude, Jasmine would do the same thing. Hell, there has been one time where I had Bob ASLEEP in my lap and she was all like "I'm a cat. I want to lay on your chest." Um, cat? You have to climb around the three-year old, first.

And then she stepped on him (she's fat at like 14lbs okay?) and my peaceful quiet time was over. D<

Isn't that amazing how they do that? Cats and kids, man. They don't want you gettin' anything done.

Don't discount dogs in that ;)

Every time I settle down with the laptop Ember suddenly insists that I have to get up and do something for her, like either let her out to potty or giving her a treat. Or she'll keep nudging my elbow, which is her way of saying "I need a walk!" What drives me especially crazy is that sometimes she'll explicitly wait for me to get settled and typing something, so I end up snapping at her for bothering me. Then her ears go all the way back in the "I'm so sorry don't get mad at me" mode, which makes me feel like a big ol' meanie :(

It's just been so long since I've owned a dog that I don't even remember that they can be little pains in the butts, too. But that's adorable that she nudges your arm like that, awwww.

There's a nudge, and then there's A NUDGE that will roll your chair wheeled into the desk so hard you bruise...

My poor BIG puppy always looks at me so quizzically when I yelp because he just came in for loves.

(The little one, and by little I mean only 65lbs instead of 105, just tries to climb into the chair with me)

I imagine you've fixed it by now, but the shortcut for that one is Ctrl + Alt + Up Key, if you don't want to go to the trouble of right-clicking and waiting on the menu.

Max does the same thing to me. Playing on LJ? No problem. Responding to like 5 pages of concrit? Ooh, let's grab the mouse and click random things!

The mouse-clicking would drive me nuts. The best is when I'm trying to write and Bob is counting the numbers on the keyboard. By pressing them. Thanks, kid.

Mike brought home an old keyboard from work and removed the cord. So now when Max tries to press my keys, I say "go type on your keyboard, okay?" It usually works, but the mouse clicking? AUGH.
