I just wanted to say hello to dear friends in case any of them ever read this.  I doubt they will. It's mostly you scoundrels and hippies, and hippy scoundrels.  ;)

So, what's new with you?  Set fire to anything or anyone? Or is that what you have planned for this weekend?  The wheel might have a few things to say about that... I've heard a rumor that it might spin soon. 

(Full disclosure, I've actually been softening my stance and a second wheel might be introduced to even further add to the fun!)

This weekend I will mostly be role-playing at an online convention. Sixteen hours of playing. Oddly, I have Saturday off.

For me, cons mean getting to try out new games, getting time with some good GMs and generally brightening (sic) the lives of a wider array of people. It’s semi social, semi creative and all geek.

Most weekends are far quieter and involve having actual friends over.

Yesterday, I was offered an interview for a student job at the University that I'm attending to be a student leader assistant which basically helps the University staff help the students. The interview is on Monday, so this weekend I'll be reviewing the position and doing a mock interview with my advisor.

Whenever I hear the phrase "mock interview," I picture someone presenting while being heckled relentlessly. LOL But, I'm sure that's not what your advisor has in mind.

No fires yet, but the week is only half over.

Lots of reading, some editing (another juvenile novel which I just got assigned), and some personal fiction writing going on, which uses as its base three (related) entries that I wrote back in season 7. Finally compiled all three sections and am expanding on the story (it was around 2200 words in total when I started). It’s about twice that length now, and I’m still working on it. It’ll probably end up in the 5k range when I’m done. Whee!

This weekend is going to be running D&D and working in the garden. :)

I wish I could set stuff on fire at my job. We use issue tracking software called Jira, and it was recently upgraded to Jira Cloud. In this case, cloud apparently means where the software's head is because I'm no longer receiving e-mail notifications on issues where I'm tagged, and a good chunk of people who used to have access now don't. "Please, can we burn it to the ground and start over?"

Are we talking about the weekend already? I'll likely be spending it playing video games and cleaning, but I also have had a real hankering for a Victoria Sandwich the past couple of days so I might make one of those. As far as fires go, I have been doing my best to deftly avoid them and let someone else do the extinguishing for once.

I will see a musical on Sunday ("Something Rotten"), a comedy about Shakespeare.

Both of my daughters' cars are at the mechanics (2 mechanics). I hope they are fixed before the weekend.

Yikes! Whenever one of our daughters has a car at the mechanics, myself and Lizbeth inevitably receive panicked calls about, "They say we need to do this ..." I can only imagine with two at the same time! Be strong! LOL
