This weekend has been really good. Just lounging with Java and being lazy beasts. I finally got an idea to click for the topic and I'm adding the finishing touches to it now. Though with the extended deadline, I considered sending it to more beta readers (I've had two people look it over), but then I realize I still don't usually get home until about half an hour before the deadline with Annabelle's vet stuff... and if they are running late?

Yeah, not worth it. I'm just glad it's not like midnight when I'm posting it.

Java and I can watch some TV and geek out a bit before bed. That should be fun :)

I am typing this comment from MY NEW ROOM in my NEW HOUSE! Well, not "my" house exactly as I share it with three others. But still. NEW PLACE TO LIVE! And my room is so beautifully neat and organised, omg. Also we live right next door to a canal! And we can walk to the beach in 5 minutes! And I can walk to my best friend's house in just over 20 minutes!! And I live in the same house as two other awesome friends! And one more friend-to-be who I don't know that well YET but yaaay housemates!

It's going to be a short work week, yay! Just Monday and Tuesday to get through, since Wednesday is a holiday, and we're driving down to Pigeon Forge, TN early on Wednesday to see their fireworks, and staying there through sometime on Saturday. W00t!

The following Monday (one week from today) my cat, Kara, has to have surgery to remove a huge bladder stone. Poor kitty!

OY! I need to get crackin'! I've got an idea completely mapped out in my head, which pretty much NEVER HAPPENS (seriously, I usually have no clue WTF I'm even going to write until like two hours before the deadline), and I'm hoping I can pull it together. Usually the first three or four ideas I have for any given prompt explode ROYALLY in my face, but hoooopefully this one will behave itself and decide not to cruelly torture me for its own amusement.

Ummmmm...good stuff! I dyed my hair blue and pink because school is OUT and I am a free agent until mid August. Looking like an escaped circus freak makes me happy, because I am a disturbed little creature. I have entirely too much caffeine in my system right now, in case that isn't painfully apparent, so I feel AWESOME. Yay. I made Harry Potter icons earlier, went out for coffee with a friend from work, and now I need to make myself focus, dammit, but nooooo, brain wants to sit here rambling like a damn fool and spamming haikus. SO PRODUCTIVE. Hmmm, what else. Uh...I went ice skating the other day! Found out the hard way that I don't know how to land jumps anymore ;_; but I can still spin! *\o/* I also had my existence validated recently when I went into this goofy dive bar, investigated the jukebox, and discovered a CD of goofy 90's hiphop. I've had Warren G's "Regulators" stuck in my head ever since.

Also, I am very sleepy and probably can't spell, let alone form sentences in anything like real time. I should be sleeping. I said I was going to sleep, but instead I'm annoying Idol people in the GR! Sensible, yes? haha

We have some guests staying with us at the moment, who are seasoned travellers like us. So, even though they're friends of my husband's and I don't know them very well, it's helped me actually converse with them, like I'm not the socially awkward person I usually am amongst people I don't know well. ;) I thought it was going to be difficult for me, but found myself chatting away. Travel is one of the few topics I can talk my ass off about, and the reason I can talk to strangers on planes.

The wife has me on FB, too, so when the husband asked why I have a pirate sword hanging in our main room, she knew what it was all about when I explained the book I'm writing (and thus the reason I have the sword). Good times. I can comment in the GR now, though, because I dropped them and their daughter off in the city a bit earlier. Though I should really be getting back to my novel now, or blogging about one of my latest two trips. Or posting photos on LJ.

I, for one, am thankful Gary pushed back the deadline. I've been playing with three different viewpoints of one idea, and nothing had stuck by the time I went to bed last night :p

It's not in the triple digits here, but it's plenty hot just the same. Silly me thought it'd cool off enough after dinner to walk Ember. I was soaked not 5 minutes into our walk. I can't imagine how she must have felt. Nevertheless, we soldiered on.

Can I go back to bed?
