Green Room - Week 30 - Day 1
Jun. 5th, 2012 09:30 amIf today is truly “a brand new day”, you can take advantage of that! It won’t know what it’s doing, as a day, yet. You, on the other hand, have plenty of experience dealing with days. It almost doesn’t seem fair!
So grab the advantage while you have it! Today is a fast learner!!
Last night, on the other hand, last night got the better of a lot of people:
We had results: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/573972.html
New topics: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/574285.html
And of course a Work Room: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/574652.html

Date: 2012-06-05 01:31 pm (UTC)1. Intensely personal nonfiction (yes, I know this is a stretch, AND it's not about being a mom)
2. Historical-ish fiction, if I don't fail at this week like I did when I tried last week
3. MAYBE a rant (so also nonfiction), which is probably Idol Suicide
Anyone want (or NOT want) to see anything else specific from me?
ETA: Oh, and FRIST!

Date: 2012-06-05 08:33 pm (UTC)I also loved the coal-mining mother historical fiction you did, and the Amelia Earhardt from outsider POV story. So, I think the historical fiction is a win for me, so long as it isn't incredibly long.

Date: 2012-06-05 01:46 pm (UTC)Here, we're hoping for rain for the rest of the week (yippee!) and I going to attempt to make a chocolate zucchini cake. Actually I don't doubt I can make it, but the attempt will be ensuring nobody sees me put the zucchini in. That's right: hiding vegetables is the height of my hijinks these days.
Sigh.
Actually, life is pretty OK over here, when I stop taking for granted all the good stuff. I hope it is where you are too.

Date: 2012-06-05 02:11 pm (UTC)And now I'm fretting about the puppy's separation anxiety which is causing all night howling. He's the perfect dog in every other way, but the husband won't put up with being woken up with the sun much longer :o(

Date: 2012-06-05 02:21 pm (UTC)Speaking of writing stuff, what would you lovely Idolers like to see from me? I am most likely doing all fiction pieces because, with me, nonfiction happens only when I am super-inspired. So, what kind of fiction would you like? Or are you hankering for some nonfiction, despite its low probability? Do tell! ^_^
Thank you. :)

Date: 2012-06-05 02:39 pm (UTC)I'll be here snickering at the fact that I dropped out the week before the five-entry torture run. haha
Love!

Date: 2012-06-05 02:57 pm (UTC)But I can feel pretty good about not having to quit, and not really having been eliminated, but getting out through what more or less amounts to mitigating circumstances. To have been the lowest of 36... that would have been tough on the ego. But to know that what had to happen to get me out was to land in a race with only 5 competitors against me, 2 of whom are top 10s, and all of whom are more popularly known, while having the routine schedule I'd become accustomed to flipped on its head, and having to select from one of four topics... and still not end up last. That doesn't hurt so much. And now, I don't have to torture myself this week.
Suckers. :P

Date: 2012-06-05 03:16 pm (UTC)We saw the movie Battleship last night, and it was much better than I thought it would be, and not just because of Alexander Skaarsgard (mmmm... yummy!). It was a fun movie with good special effects, and it really did play homage to ye olde board game, LOL.

Date: 2012-06-05 06:56 pm (UTC)My kids tended to need their long naps for awhile. The surprise was my son, who also needed a morning nap as a baby. It was really hard to plan activities around his schedule until that stopped. :0

Date: 2012-06-05 03:57 pm (UTC)Our guest-for-the-week will be arriving sometime tonight. We haven't even started cleaning out the guest room! YIKES! I need to do some shopping so we'll have the semblance of actual FOOD and I assume the semblance that I can actually DO SOMETHING with this FOOD.
Other than that, it's been raw and rainy the last couple of days here. It's made me such a slug I'm surprised moss hasn't started sprouting on me...

Date: 2012-06-05 04:30 pm (UTC)If we're *all* posting nutritionally deficient terrorist entries, we can't *all* get knocked out... can we? Let us gather together under the canopy of total fucking insanity, unite with our respective dreams, and blissfully rejoice as one. Oh, and eventually flail wildly while we claw each other's eyes out, but it's not time for that until at least the second week.

No feedback yet on things any of you might want to see.
You don't care? You have no opinion? All of the fics so far have been different, so there's no common thread to latch onto?
Or, you want to see what kind of cracked out weirdness I'll come out with on my own? :0

I edited what I wrote for disapear and its finnished. The link was removed but thats ok. Its what I was thinking about when I wrote the peace on PTSD flashbacks.
Writing about things is suposed to help but I think sometimes its just a way to share the nightmare.
I wont be relinking it but its there because sometimes all you have to do to disapear is change your name.
