It’s weird, knowing that there isn’t an episode of Survivor tonight! It’s even more strange knowing that we started this when South Pacific was still fairly new, and went through One World!

Will we be here to start the Philippines? ;) (No. Even though it’s the first group of “returning players” who I am actively excited to see. Those three are going to be a lot of fun!)

What do you have planned for your evening – other than poll watching? (and congratulating pixie117 on her new job/wishing people happy birthday - not sure who, but I'm sure there is someone)

When you say South Pacific, I think the musical :P Which I'm hopefully seeing later this year! Only seen it the once and that was a five person production... not sure I really got the feel for the show there ;)

Plans for my evening = sleep! It's midnight here! And I just got home from the shiny opening night of The Merry Widow, which was such a beautiful production and yes we were totally the youngest there by about thirty years.

So I have news! I posted about it in my LJ yesterday, but I will post it here too. I got a job offer for the non-proft! It was a little lower than I had hoped for since I get a housing discount at this place I am now and it doesn't exactly cover the difference in that. BUT He said that I could come back with some numbers and we could make it work. I think it'll work out and I'm pretty sure that means I am going to be making the switch out of hell... err I mean my current job.

I better get back to getting ready for work. For now, I do have to go in and pretend I care. I'm so looking forward to telling them that I'm out of there and also (nicely) explain why I can't stand working there much longer! WooHoo!


Oh and my evening will be spent with java_fiend. No Survivor means we need to come up with stuff to do on Wednesday night. I don't foresee that being a problem though! Tonight is a two-hour Criminal Minds anyway, so for now, we have that.

Geez that last day of your life thing seems ominous, more so because I have to go in for surgery tomorrow.not gonna lie, I'm kind of scared even though it's a routine procedure.

Otherwise, I'm getting through. Our home alarm went off this morning while I was on the train, so that was scary, but I sent my dad over and there doesn't appear to be any forced entry. Hopefully just a glitch, but that was s ary too. I'm sitting in court now waiting for the clerk to review the court order we wrote up. And the day drags on,

Thanks to everyone who responded to my whingefest in yesterday's GR. I really hope I didn't come off as fishing for compliments. I mean, of course I love to hear that I deserve to be here, but that's one of those sentiments that's more meaningful when it's expressed spontaneously, isn't it?

It really helped to get my feelings out in the open, though, so thanks for listening to me and chiming in and stuff. :D

I wrote a Home Game entry last night - it's basically a Cento in form (a poem using lines by other writers) but created using opening lines from novels rather than lines from other poems.

So the guy wanted me to send in my counteroffer via email. It's done. I am afraid it's too high, but I provided justification and did say I wanted the job badly enough to try and work it out if that was too high. I could handle a little less and be equal... But I figured they'd counter with lower regardless so I went a little higher to give them room.

After reading one too many sad entries this week, I needed to have a talk with my twelve-year old dog.

"You're going to live forever," I told her. "And you're going to be happy and healthy forever. Promise me."

She couldn't do that, but I'm pretty sure she was asking me to keep petting her forever. Which is not happening because she is currently at the groomer's.

Where do people get the idea that apostrophes have anything to do with making a noun plural?

This is the fourth time I've corrected this word, and after the third revision I even sent a note saying, "is there a reason you keep putting that apostrophe back?"

Hello GR! I'm getting a very slow and lazy start to the day, but I have acquired groceries for tasty nomming later and responded to comments with this journal and otherwise done lots of internetting.

I saw The Avengers last night with a sweetie! I enjoyed it - it was certainly a Whedon creation, with all the quipping.

edit: And I totally forgot to answer the question of what I have planned for my evening. I'm not actually sure - I may have a dinner & board games date with a local lady, or I may just be staying home and reading and working on a new crochet project. So I'll be watching my email to see what's up, as well as watching the poll with great trepidation.
