therealljidolIt’s that time again – time to start another “working week”, the kind that Elvis Costello warned you about!
In Idol, it’s time to make sure that everyone has a partner! The last time I checked the unofficial tally, there were still 5 contestants without one. Not sure where that stands at the moment. Anyone want to update me? If you do not have a partner, please stand up.

Date: 2012-04-09 03:19 pm (UTC)Just got back from taking my shaggy beasts in for their annual vet exam and grabbing a really early lunch at McDonald's. Working from home today. It's a slow day, again. I think people are still off for spring break, or something.
And now I should go feed the beasts since they've been waiting very patiently while I ate my lunch. Happy Monday/Tuesday everyone!

Date: 2012-04-09 03:24 pm (UTC)And I have one more day of work today (the shortest all week, I think) before I finally have a day off. Holidays are rough. I was supposed to have a "weekend"--Tuesday and Wednesday off--but they screwed up and scheduled me outside my availability on Thursday, so they might have to switch me entirely to get someone to cover that shift.
Also I have cramps today (you needed to know that). I hope I can quell them before I start work later, or I will have a very unpleasant day.

In good news - my partner and I have an awesome idea, and I'm really looking forward to getting a lot of writing done on it tonight. :)

Date: 2012-04-09 03:38 pm (UTC)I've been working on writing poetry for NaPoWriMo, and have tackled haiku, cento, pantoum, free verse, sestina, limerick, and most recently a villanelle. It's exhausting but really fun trying to write to strict forms - I keep having to plot things out on paper to remind myself where I'm at in the scheme of things, LOL.

Date: 2012-04-09 03:44 pm (UTC)In other news, I'm almost finished with my piece and my partner is finished with hers I believe. We are going to post together. I'll be posting mine tonight after I work on a few little things that need tweaking. But I'm happy with our collaboration.
The Easter bunny brought me way too many sweets. My mom sent me Reese's peanut butter eggs (my favorite since I was a child), my order from my friend's etsy shop was ready on Friday so I was treated to cardamom shortbread and slutty brownies (that's a brownie with cookie dough and an Oreo baked in the center). Oh and can't forget the banana pudding pie I made yesterday....

Date: 2012-04-10 02:40 am (UTC)Easter was good though busy, between commute to dinner and dinner itself. Bunny didn't bring me nothin', though -- all my nieces and nephews are too old for "bunny hunting" any more.
My piece should go up tomorrow. I like it, my partner likes it... but whether LJI will like it, only time will tell.
