The Gatekeepers have been filing in to cast their stones into the circle. Later, we will cut open an animal to see if the entrails can give us any signs as to what those rocks mean!

OK, that might not be the *actual* system. Unless of course, it is… *cue dramatic music*

If it’s not though, I wonder what I’m going to do with all of these entrails! Perhaps, give them out as parting gifts to the contestants who will be leaving us later tonight.

I liked all of the entries, to be honest. That sounds like a cop-out but almost every single post had something special. I have no idea how anyone is supposed to pick 10-20 people to leave.

I've been thinking a lot about the Trayvon case. Tensions keep building. I wonder what is going to happen in our nation in the days ahead. It's very sad that Trayvon died.

In light of these issues, yes, I have been thinking about Idol some too though it seems smaller in a way. Yet, it some of the entries especially highlight that there are joys and sorrows in all our lives (I see this even in the fiction.) And these change who we become.

Ultimately though the media etc are highlighting Trayvon's loss as an example of greater injustice..ultimately, his parents go to sleep each night with his bed empty.

Pain is personal and shapes us.

I haven't been commenting a whole lot, I haven't been very talkative (the vertigo from this sinus infection is sticking around and making it difficult). But I do want to say I really liked dslartoo's entry this week. It was so sweet, and made me giggle. I also liked alien_infinity's piece because she went nonfiction this week and showed herself for the first time though I know it makes her nervous. I'm sure there are others... My brain is still foggy.

I'm not thinking about Idol Doom so much, I'm trying to get through the week. There's been plenty of Doom there already. I'm hoping Idol doesn't add to it with the results tonight!

It's Thursday at least... Though my weekend lineup sounds exhausting with cleaning and roommate searching anyway, so there's not much I'm looking forward to this weekend anyway. Though Saturday in San Diego with Java should be nice, I almost wish we could stay the weekend and get away... But at least a day out and about will be fun even if I'm going to be exhausted afterward since its a race :)

I really never stop moving. Even now I'm preparing to walk the dog as I type this. I go fwump soon?

I'm sorry your vertigo on top of your infection is making things tougher. I got hit with severe vertigo about twelve days ago (though it's been improving, praise jeebus), and it made me completely miserable for the better part of a week. :/

I'm good - cold, but good. We're one day closer to Friday, and the sun should be making a reappearance for us right in time for the weekend.

Life, as usual is crazy right now. I just realized that the charity show I'm doing opens in 22 days!!! It's coming so fast and we still have so much to do! But at least my husband and I have found our new apartment, so that's one thing I can tick off my list. Apparently here in Quebec we are different from the rest of the world in the just about everybody moves on July 1. So it's crazy trying to prepare everything for your move when everyone's doing the same thing. So the earlier you can book your moving truck, cable installation, phone transfers, etc., the better.
I still have about a page and a half of entries to read, but I WILL get 'er done!!

Tensions will continue to mount...and most likely knowing the past and the history of other situations like this...riots will ensue and we will all be standing back saying WTF?

Personally I am tired of hearing nothing BUT the Williams/Zimmerman case. It's annoying to no end. I know that sounds harsh but if anyone watched the BBC last night you might have caught the broadcast about the natural gas rig off of the coast of Scotland that is on the brink of causing a disaster the size of the BP Gulf Oil spill.

Did anyone else notice the Pope meeting with Castro yesterday and the bold move of the Pope of telling Castro to back down.

How about the three bombs that went off at the UN backed peace summit in Baghdad?

I tried asking a college friend of mine what they thought about the Pope and Castro...she's Cuban...she didn't even know it went down. Yet she has about 15 different postings on the Wilson/Zimmerman case on her website.

On another note I managed to wake up at 3.:55am AZ time and promptly puked in my favorite chucks...not a good day..

If I seem a little bitchy...now you know why.

Contrary to ellakite's proclamation, I am not dead, but I feel like I am :p

Today is the first day off I've had in over a week. I haven't had time to think, much less read entries. I feel badly about that, especially re those who were kind enough to read and comment on my entry.

We're going computer scouting today -- there's a place nearby where one can pick up a refurbished one for a mere song. I can't really afford it, but seeing as mine is ready to belly-up, I'll have to Just Do It.

I also have go shopping, even though food is the last thing I want to think about.

Ugh, that sucks. That happened to one of my coworkers this week. I'm kinda lucky because I have one day a week that I'm always off for choir, so even if it got to where that was my only day off, I still never have to go more than six days in a row, because I am not available to be scheduled on that one day.

Speaking of cuddly entrails (and there's a phrase you don't get to write very often), I'm thinking of making a crocheted and knitted digestive system for my friend for her birthday this year. Or maybe next year, considering how long it takes me to finish stuff. When I had my gallbladder out she made me a plushie one (never leave home without your internal organs, one way or another), and she's the kind of person who would really appreciate such a gift. There's a really neat looking pattern on ravelry... hmm... of course, I have a bunch of other projects to finish first. Or frist, possibly.

Today I'm going to bake a pie, wrap some presents, and play a nifty roguelike game (http://te4.org/). As soon as I manage to wake up, that is.

I made icons from pictures I've taken while out and about for work. They're in the most recent post on my journal if anyone wants them. I have plans to make more. Maybe even make an icon community and set up shop, who knows?

I don't want to get cut, but if I do it's cool. I've got icons to make and Sims stories to write and awesome LJ friends to talk to. :)

I don't know how I got to be so busy this week. I got a lot more hours than usual dumped on me at work, and next week will be more of the same (though clearly I am a wimp--I'm still working less than 40 hours), and choir is gearing up for concert time, and I've just had a lot of things to do in my non-work time. Which is a boring and long-winded way of saying I haven't had the time for reading that I thought I would.

But I did love the heck out of cheshire23's entry this week.

I somehow managed to pull something in my calf, and it hurts. I had minor pain there last night at work, and this morning it hurts like the dickens. I'm debating going on my walk, anyway, because it mostly hurts in the first few steps after getting up. Then again, perhaps I should give it some healing time while I can, since I have another long day on my feet today, and again tomorrow and all weekend.

My spring break is zooming by. I lost about a day and a half to a headache, which is really weird for me. I'm not a headache guy. My love scheduled massages for us yesterday, and we went and enjoyed those... awesome.

Feeling much better today. It's super windy outside, drizzly and about 45 degrees. Welcome to Portland spring break. Happens every year!

Blaaaaah~! No entrails for me. My tummy is already sick today and I feel just CRUMMY. I had some tea this morning and I'm switching to orange juice and going back to bed for a bit while the baby is still napping.

My charity fundraiser for Olivia's school when really well last night! We raised a ton of money and I MCed the event without screwing up. It seems like everyone had a lot of fun too, so I'm considering it a success. I just wanted to beat last year's totals for the event, and I won't know about that for a few days, but the preliminary results look good.

And as I'm typing this, I just found out that I was nominated as Vice President of the Parent Teacher Board!

I live in Louisiana. I'm pretty sure there are several things that can be made with entrails. Boudin springs to mind.
