Good morning! So excited for November as so many very exciting things are happening:

*Traveling back up to Cheyenne for the rest of the week today, which means karaoke and dancing tomorrow night and sister time some time!

*New apartment at the middle of the month - the hubby and I are sooooo excited to move out of the one we're in now

*Thanksgiving closely followed by the hubby's b-day

*And, of course, NaNo. I always say I'm going to keep up with it and get my 50K words. This year, though, I'm really going to! I just know it! ^_^

This month, I'll be reading and possibly writing a bit of flash fiction in the Google + Nano Flash circle that I have joined. It's a great way to encourage writing for those of us not quite ready to tackle NaNoWriMo.

This month is also my birthday month! I'm sure my lovely wife will have something or another up her sleeve by way of celebration.

Today was Melbourne Cup Day, I took the dog to the vet for an unsatisfactory visit, and we went to the park (those three things are completely unconnected). I also wrote 644 words for NaNo and had a GOOD GRIEF HOW AM I GOING TO DO THIS moment, which has since passed. Eating three Mint Slice biscuits helped.

Tomorrow I'm hosting my first write-in, so I hope someone else turns up! Luckily I've got the baby to keep me company so even if I'm on my own, I won't look like a complete loser. Well, no more than usual, anyway ;P

As far as reading entries, I might have some time to read some tonight. So far I love dslartoo's entry. I think that is how you spell his username. I just happened across it out of the blue. Other than that, I've just read entries from people on my flist as I see them.

Today I have a doctor's appointment I am nervous about. After that I'm getting my nails done and a few other things before I have to go to class. Yay for extra days off.

Happy All Saints Day, y'all!

October was a blast but I'm ready for November. I'm craving a bit of downtime until Thanksgiving.

At the moment I'm at home, waiting on my new kitchen table and chairs to be delivered. AND my husband just called to say he won us Guns n' Roses tickets off the radio!! He had to sing to get them, poor man, lol! The concert's tomorrow...anyone wanna babysit for us? :)

Have had a very crazy rough long week and weekend. Just starting to recover :) am off to work tomorrow but in the arvo am sitting down reading a bunch of entries and commenting on them because comments are lovely to get. Also, I finally saw the godfather today. I'd never seen it and was sick of getting that look when I told people, so I decided to sit down and watch it today. It was pretty awesome. Everyone was right.

*sniffs appreciatively* Mmm did I just walk into a lot of people baking? Yummy. It's my birthday this month. I wanted to celebrate by doing NaNo, but I left my draft at my apartment and I've lost my muse. I'm always depressed by this thing because I used to write tons of fiction and now I can't seem to do it no matter what i do.

Anyway, back to food. I want to make muffins. It's been so long since I had any.

Trying to plow through the other half of this week's entries. I don't know if it's my allergy to love but I'm struggling to find good ones to vote for. I'm hoping some hidden gem is on page 10.

Good morning, Green Room! I haven't had a lot of time to start reading entries yet, just a few, but now that my entry is done I plan to settle in and hunker down and read as many as possible. Thank goodness work is much less crazy this week.

This month we've got Thanksgiving AND Friendsgiving (Thanksgiving party w/ friends) coming up. It'll be our 12th annual! Also, this is the month I'm finally going to finish up that story I've been working on forever. Hopefully before the month moves into double digits!

I started reading yesterday and have read all out of order, but I do have a list going of favorites! It's getting long though... I haven't checked the polls, so I am not sure where they stand.

So far, it includes horosha, phoenixsansfyr, ariesathena, wookiewife, yasonablock, mac_arthur_park, sra33, n3m3is42, vaguelyclear, milk_and_glass, alien_infinity and honeybeewriter.

I have so many others I am voting for, but those were some that I noted for one reason or another as ones I'd like to rec to others. Like I said, I am hardly through all the reading though ( and I read so randomly, there's no order there whatsoever)... so it's nowhere near a comprehensive list!

Oh and I didn't place him up there with the rest since people will say I am biased... but I actually did get a good chuckle out of java_fiend's entry and found it very clever... so check him out too!

I *always* enjoy November anywhere, because it's when fall is well and truly in full swing. The crisp air, the crunching leaves underfoot -- they make me happy to be alive. I do love fall.

Of course, I love winter even more, but seeing as how I get almost no actual WINTER here in Texas, I have to settle for fall. :)

I think I'd like the first day of November more if the snow would melt. Or even just if people would get their tree branches out of the road so it's a tad more passable since the town clearly isn't going to finish plowing.

But other than that, I'm a big fan of November mostly because it's my birthday month (next Wednesday!!) and of course NaNoWriMo. This year is going to be the year I finally finish! It probably helps that I'm not just winging it like years past.

Still fighting this stupid cold I developed over the weekend--came to a head yesterday, when DAYQUIL was putting me to sleep at my desk. (Yes, I'm sure I took the Dayquil and not the Nyquil.) Finally, about 2pm, I decided there was no way I was going to be a productive member of working society that day.

I think I'm better today, though still not 100%. Two tribes down, seven to go in the reading.

I am so NOT doing NaNo - I don't have a novel in me, I'm pretty sure about that, since my preference is for the short form, and it's not just because I'm a mere 5'0"!

I love November because we get lots of holidays - if we go vote, we can claim 4 hours of paid leave on the 8th; we're off on the 11th for Veterans Day, and we're off two days for Thanksgiving, woot.

I love my work, but I also enjoy being paid for NOT being here, LOL.

I have a couple novels in my head, but I have to choose Idol or NaNo with my limited free time. It's obvious what I chose... That's because I'm happy working on getting better, and to me, that happens with short pieces and feedback :)
