Green Room - Sign Up Week - Day 3

Once upon a time, in a far away village called The Internet, there lived a monster.

Unlike other monsters of the time and age, this one was not misunderstood or just wanting to be loved and appreciated.

This one wanted to gather people together and force them to write for months on end, devouring the ones who didn't run quite fast enough in the process.

He would let the one who ran the fastest go, letting them live out their lives - and telling other people about their trauma, and how they barely escaped, and somehow convincing other people to put their own necks on the line in hopes that they would escape as well!

The monster posted a Green Room every day, to check out what the villagers were saying, while he slowly circled them, waiting for the right moment to strike.

He also posted a Sign up thread: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/485253.html - to gather more people to compete and a FAQ : http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/484986.html to answer some questions. What no one talked about was that it didn't cover the big question of "why did the monster want to eat them all?"

That one was obvious. He was a monster. That is what monsters do.

WooHoo! I made it in before there were two pages of comments for a change and got first! I'm such a dork to be this excited over that, huh?

Lazing in bed while java_fiend walks my giant puppy. This is the life, huh? We snuggled for a bit, him, the beastly dog and my evil flesh eating kitty. All four of us in my bed...I love Sundays :)

This villager is incredible sick. Her twins somehow got a stomach bug and lovingly passed it on, somewhere between the pukey carpets and the pooey sheets.

Now she's sitting, basically incapacitated while her three year olds, who have already explosively released their germs this morning in two very different manners, fight over two beach balls that are exactly the same in every way. Apparently the one on the couch is full of magical power, whereas the one against the wall is just crap.

No energy to intervene, this villager waits patiently for nap time, feeling mild concern that one twin refused to eat anything so far today. The concern would be greater if she didn't have the feeling the food would simply end up, well, back up.

This villager is going to be good and responsible today. I am going to do laundry and start my story outline for my nano novel. I bought a Progresso french onion soup to try with some toasted cheese bread for lunch. I am also going to figure out the weeks schedule today rather than winging it and going crazy by tuesday.

Yesterday M and I went to a U-Pick place to pick apples and pumpkins. It was a lot of fun, and I even got some awesome cider donuts from the farm store--but I think I might have overdone it in terms of activity. Because by the time I got home, I could barely walk.

Today I'm more mobile than last night, but still in pain. Also, today marks week 38 for pregnancy. Not long now...

My goal today is to sit here with a heating pad and a fistful of opioids... my car was totaled yesterday after being creamed by a truck. Kid blew through a red light and nailed us. Too bad there's not a topic due. I've got TIME. :)

I loved my car! I just sunk two thousand dollars into it. I'm not much into possessions, but that one was my favorite.

Grateful that no one was badly hurt. I had my 12-year-old daughter with me.

Taking advantage of the weekend before maintenance comes in for the week to repair massive water damage. I will be working all week since I am ridiculously behind, but that's tomorrow! Today I am finishing the novella I started last night and outlining my NaNoWriMo project.
