I discovered my baby looks like a man I had a crush on, who wasn't my husband. That was weird. :P

Also last night I stayed up kind of late... the last time my eyes saw the time it was 1.52. The poll closed at 2am. The *next* time they saw it, it was 7.45! (And then I went right on back to sleep until 11.45 o.O) Kind of funny that I flaked out 8 minutes before close.

Surprisingly, I didn't miss last night! I haven't actually been much involved with the game since I byed out in the fall--but I found myself pretty excited last night about watching the poll and waiting for all the twists and turns. I was thinking a lot about the narrative power of the game itself, which was pretty cool, too. I watched my favorite writer of the week get eliminated. Then I watched the not-so-surprising twist of Joey saving himself with the immunity idol (not-so-surprising since he'd already announced on his LJ in the past an intention to save himself if need-be). But I was surprised to see one of my dearest friends from last season get eliminated in exchange. AND that wasn't even all. Because there was a final announcement of one last immunity to be handed out--to the last standing newbie! WOW. Well, I sure did pick an exciting night to tune in.

In my expanding to fill the void world, I've got two small papers to write this week for class. Pregnancy is still progressing healthily. I was invited to a celebration for the South Sudanese community, who earlier this year successfully voted for independence.

Also, I mentioned last night while chatting to zia_narratora that I might try to home game this week. We'll see if I can fit it in. :)

I'm hopping on the motorcycle in a couple minutes here, and pops and I are heading into the mountains. Going to Cabela's Outfitters in Hamburg PA, one of the biggest locations they have. It's a store with an aquarium and a fake mountain, fer chrissakes.

I figure I deserve a trip. I had two days "off" after the fourth, and have thus far been pulled into work both days. I'm running away. On my motorcycle. Possibly with Bruce Springsteen wailing some great American ballad as I roar away. ;)

Once I get back, though, I guess the writing has to start in earnest.

I didn't miss anything from last night. While I know he's sad, I hope java_fiend knows how awesome he really did. While I know how it stings to not be able to play anymore...I think he has a lot to be proud of. I'm certainly very proud of him.

In case you didn't read him the entire time, I wrote up post highlighting some of my favorite entries from him. So check his stuff out since he's been rocking this entire season with great entries. I love his stuff. I truly do.

I think the only thing that's rapidly expanding is my waistline, LOL. I totally need to get more exercises, but it's been so hot out I don't feel like going for walkies. If I could get my butt out of bed earlier, maybe I'd go in the mornings, but I'm SO not a morning person... ah well.

I didn't miss yesterday. I just didn't have time to do anything like comment properly. Work has been eating me alive every single day. I have so freaking HAD IT with doing the same crap over a million times.

I had a four day weekend, and Friday was nice. The rest of the weekend I was busy busy busy. I did finally get my hair done though! I love the new color and length. Focus on the positive, right?

As for those leaving us, I truly have no words. yachiru turned out consistently amazing, unique stuff, and java_fiend is a good friend as well as one of the most incredibly talented writers I know. Every week is heartbreaking at this point.

Work has been eating me alive too :( 4 day weekend and then a 11 hour work day. I'll be lucky to ever see a regular two day weekend again. It sucks. I feel for you.

I need a hair trim so badly, but I never get the time...I bet the cut and color looks great!
