Whatever. I'm sure it will come to me, and if not, well I won't be hanging around here very much longer anyway!

Aside from that, yesterday I bought a couple of tops and some boots to finish off my Jaclyn the pirate costume. Hopefully this means I'll actually get around to shooting that first screenplay. I didn't do much - watched some movies and cleaned my house, mostly. Yes, I live a jet-setting life.

And completely off the topic of your question (but not off topic for LJ Idol, mind you) I have to say this:

While I'm loving the immunity thing, it makes me kind of sad to think that my entries will be read last, if they're even read at all. I worked really hard on those! Somebody toss me a few more comments, if you feel so inclined. For some reason, I'm really needy and more than a little whiney and no one wants that, do they?

I actually read them in alphabetical order, so I read yours first after the ones I read as they popped up on my flist. I just stopped commenting because I didn't think I'd be able to plow through all the entries if I was leaving comments and I wanted to make sure I read everything!

I think comments are low for everyone, it's not just you. I noticed that when I was going through and have made two LJ posts specifically encouraging people to comment on the contestant entries because it makes me sad to see how few comments there are on them all. :(

(I know I didn't comment on two of your entries, but that was purely because I didn't know what to say on those, not because I didn't read them).

This past weekend was a holiday weekend in both the States and Canada. People go on holiday, go away for a few days, they're outside more, etc. Plus the weather was beautiful in most parts of the country, I think, so everyone's outside.

We were the only ones other than a family on the next block who were in my neighborhood all weekend. Even during a recession, people around here still manage to get away for a few days.

So...ergo, lack of comments overall on LJ, including Idol :(

I worked all weekend. Today is my first day off in over a week. I think I finally crashed around 9 last night and woke up not even an hour ago. That was 12 hours of sleep :boggle: And I could still go back to bed very easily!

I didn't leave town except for a short stint in San Diego (which is a short drive away normally). I was home all weekend and thankful for that fact since every other holiday has required me to fly to MO when sometimes, staying home and sleeping in my own bed is nice. It was soooo nice too.

I'm... kind of stressed. So much to do, so little time. And in the last couple of months my RL friends have kicked up one hell of a drama (a bed-hopping kind of drama) and I'm 100% caught in the middle of it. I feel slightly like I'm in a bad soap opera.
On the plus side I finally got around to reading City of Ships - the fifth Stravaganza book. Only like a year after it came out. I'm glad I did as well - it's my favourite since the first one, which surprised me.
I also downloaded a bunch of 80s and 90s music which is awesome and I love it.

But really, I have nothing to say. Nothing. I need to be less stressed :( Tell me something happy that's happened to you - it'll cheer me up!

OMG I love that series so much. Girlfriend thought I'd like City of Masks so picked it up for me one day and I just adored it. Very recently read City of Stars and went apeshit all over again. I have City of Flowers on my shelf as well but I decided to give myself a slight break between the two to spread out the joy a little... I am weird like that! But reading books 2 and 3 of His Dark Materials without a break in between kind of wore me down - as did hopping straight from Inkspell into Inkdeath.

Happy, happy, um... girlfriend bought some custard-filled doughnuts and ooooh they were lush!

My weekend was excellent, thanks for asking. On Saturday we drove up to Cincinnati and went to the zoo, then to a nearby IMAX theater where we saw the Transformers 3 movie in IMAX 3-D. Pretty awesome, although IMO the movie ran about 10-15 minutes too long.

On Sunday we drove out to New Haven, KY and went to the KY Railway Museum, and got to ride on the train which was pulled by a steam engine. Pretty nifty! Then we met a friend for dinner in Louisville.

Yesterday we chillaxed during the morning, then went to a friend's house for a cook-out and fireworks that evening. It was awesome!

You know what I think might be helpful? It's maybe a bit late in the season for this, but maybe for next season - it's an Lj Idol icon or an lj idol picture that people could reference that says something like, "Entry read - check!" or "Entry read - well done!" Or something to that effect.

Something so basically people can reply with just the icon or picture in the post to let people know that they read the entry. I'm hearing a lot of concern from people about the lack of comments, but I'm reading here in the Green Room about people focusing more on the reading and less on the commenting - which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's just that to the contestants, they don't actually know if they've been read unless people leaves a comment, and it seems that people don't want to leave a comment unless it can be meaningful.

Maybe the solution is to create some kind of picture or icon that people can leave that lets them know that it's ok to just stop by and "wave" so to speak, without having to take the time to come up with something hugely original to say about the entry?

lol... pixie117 just had to explain the situation to me. From what she said, it sounds like the worst verdict since OJ and that the prosecutors totally screwed the pooch.

But I didn't follow the case at all so I have no real idea of what went on.

Howdy-Doo Idolers!

First day back after a gloriously long holiday weekend. Sleepy as heck though... the local kids were shooting off loud explodey things until after midnight and making a loud nuisance of themselves long after that. So sleep was kinda crappy last night!

But I did get to have a wonderful weekend with pixie117. :-) We made it down to San Diego for a trip to an amusement park, lounged a lot, tried to get out to see Transformers and had a yummy BBQ at my place last night. Gotta love ribs. :-)

Now there will be much sweating it out until the poll closes tonight. It's scary stuff, man.
