Good morning and welcome to July 1st.

Officially, the start of our final month here in Season 7 of LJ Idol.

If you conceived in the first couple of weeks of this season, you would be giving birth pretty soon!! Which is a pretty big idea to take in, and a huge life change (literally, bringing forth a new future Idol contestant into the world).

What have you gone through this season that has been a sea change in your life? Ups? Downs? Mistakes? Have you corrected them? Discoveries? Have you explored their possibilities?

Idol can be a wonderful opportunity, for people who take advantage of what it offers, and understand what exactly that is. I hope that you have this season, and continue to do so.

In the meantime - this season isn't over yet. Far from it. Plenty of excitement to go!!!

It is amazing that these several months have gone by and all the wonderful entries have brought it down to this contest for the finish.

I know the person who becomes the winner cannot compete in another season but can they write under a different name? It would be a shame not to be able to read the works of these wonderful writers in the future. Maybe there should be an All-Star challenge!!

No. They can not compete in any way, shape or form - under any user name.

I tend to talk to them about things that I can't talk to other people inside the game about, and they have a wealth of inside perspectives that are always helpful. Winners do not have an automatic place at the table. Worse case scenario, if I ever had a winner that I hated (I hope that never happens and if precedent is any indication it won't.) it's not like I'm required to deal with them... but I try to include them as much as possible, to keep their hands in the mix.

If you want to read the work of the winners - friend them. :) That seems to be the easiest way to see what they are writing/doing outside of Idol.

There has been talk about All Stars over the years. Every time I start compiling a list of "must haves" though, it starts piling up, and I see who is being left out and stop hearing the cheers for the people selected and start hearing the "why not me"s that would definitely show up.

I mean, you have people now who can't put aside their egos to be happy for the Top 6. Could you imagine if they weren't picked as "All Stars"???

Good morning, Green Roomies. I am reading all the entries that I can during sales lulls..

My two biggest sea changes during this season were 1] taking over / buying the bookstore in November and 2] my mom's death in December. The bookstore is both joy and frustration; my mom's death has spawned a lot of thought and a huge pool of regrets. The bad dreams about her have been pretty frequent this past month.

Idol itself has its joys and its avenues for regrets... I wish I'd had the discipline to write Home Game entries after n_maranda_coy byed out.

Today I have a wedding to go to, tomorrow is my mom's 4th celebration, and the 3rd is my friend's get-together from being back to the state which will be lots of fun, I haven't seen her in foreeevaaahhh!!!!

And through all this I have to figure out how to get my dailies done on WoW, I don't want to be behind everyone else getting the new shinys!!!

I'll be reading ALL THIS on Monday. Or Tuesday. But probably Monday. :)

I've got approximately two contestants left to read and I can tell you now it is a hard decision. I'm giving each entry a score out of 5 so I can tally them all together to decide what to vote for. The problem then arose when I'd given a bunch of 5s, then read something that completely blew me away and had to give it a 6. XD

I've been through a lot of ups and downs this season but I think I'm back to about where I started again, only with more friends and confidence in my writing. Actually I may even go as far as saying Idol helped me find the friendlier side of my personality and regain a positive outlook on life.

Today is the one year anniversary of my weight loss surgery. I have lost 98.25 pounds. Life is good.

Has anyone else seen an uptick in spam targeting specific LJ entries this season?

I have one entry (my week two entry from Season 6) that is like catnip for spambots. No idea why.

And, of course, I have a number of non-LJI entries that seem to get hit again and again and again. I wonder what attracts the bots to certain entries?

I enjoyed your wonderful creativity. I finished all 36 reads yesterday and your album covers are exceptional in portraying a glimpse of what the entries are about.
