Green Room - Week 29 - Day 6

Last night I killed an Idoler.

Again.

Apparently, they just won't stay dead.

Sure, technically it was a dream - and I was concerned about them, until I started realizing that I had a bunch of their personal items and a memory of coming out of the swamp after dragging something heavy.

This wasn't the first time that I've killed them in a dream either! If it was I would have just dismissed it. Nor was it the first time over the last couple of months that there was another Idoler there, trying to solve the crime.

It's kind of weird, because if I suddenly decided to snap and start killing people - my victim wouldn't have been anywhere near the top of my list. Especially at the moment.

That didn't stop them from being dead though. I suppose that if they should come up missing in RL, I'm probably now a suspect. Oops! :)

But maybe it wasn't me. Maybe it was an admiral wearing a pointy hat. Or a captain with kooky pants! Or perhaps someone named Clyde who was merely trying to signal which direction they were turning.

Maybe it wasn't me at all. If other people can dismiss responsibility for their actions - so can I!! :)

This has just gone completely over my head. I've never murdered anyone in my sleep. Or in my dreams. :)

Yeah, I'm looking to write something too. Unfortunately* I've been sleeping in for the past week so I've been having about three hours less per day where I could conceivably write stuff. I'll probably get onto it tomorrow afternoon.

I have a recurring dream in which I can fly, but only ever a few feet off the ground, and there is always someone chasing me. I know nothing about the analysis of dreams, so I have no idea what that might mean, but it's kinda weird. /random

Wellllllllll *puts on Freud hat* being chased usually just means you feel your life is going in triple time and you haven't had a chance to stop and take a break, regroup before you move on to the next big thing. Not so sure about the flying bit though..

I did wake up at 3:30 am from freaky animal behavior again and then totally had a bad feeling... Like something bad was happening somewhere. Very bad. It scares me! I'm thinking a lot about The Fourth Kind these days too...eek!

Sometimes I worry about you, Gary. I really do :D

I'm still alive, but I can't vouch for my dream self. I can't remember much of anything I've dreamed in a long time, so I suppose it doesn't matter if my dream self is dead.

Today I got all the way to work and realized I'd left my laptop bag at home. I remember putting it on my shoulder, I remember feeling the weight of it, then I remember saying goodbye to my dogs on the way out the door. Got to work, no laptop bag. I had to go home and get it. I was kind of freaking out on the way there because I figured, with the memories I had, that possibly I'd left it sitting in the driveway. But I got home and there it was on the couch, where it always is. I have no idea if I invented the memory of feeling the weight on my shoulder, or if I put it back down again for some reason.

Anyway, yeah, awesome start to my day. I've been here all of an hour and now I'm off to lunch for my co-worker's birthday. Then I have to finish reading the other four entries for this week. Man, that poll is scary.

You sound like me :P I freak out like that. I got to work once and realized I didn't have my wallet. I of course assume it fell out of my purse somewhere (probably because one day I went to my car and saw my wallet sitting beside my car...I had no idea it had fallen out of my purse and it sat there all night. Scary!).

I'm glad you didn't leave the bag outside and that it worked out. Also yay for birthdays! I love days like that where you just get in then its off for fun!

Also, whenever I need to kill someone in a dream, I always have the wrong ammo for the gun or something. I hate having to pistol whip faceless aggressors in my dreams, it's such a damn chore.

The thing I flashed on reading this entry for some reason was one of my favorite computer games in the 80's:

Now, the game doesn't look all that advanced at all, but back in high school, it was great fun. Hurray Apple IIe!

I speculate that Rampage was that game's spiritual successor. While I never played CCaC, I recall playing Rampage until my brain melted. (The NES version, like so many NES versions, had no real conclusion. You just played until your interest, stamina, or luck ran out.)
