Green Room - Week 29 - Day 4

I was trying to figure out what to do the other day. After all, with this poll http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/474027.html we are going to be pretty close to the bottom.

So I consulted my Oracles and they said that when I got to the bottom I was supposed to get back to the top of the slide.

I am started to suspect my Oracles may not be receiving this information from the gods.

Maybe I will try this new thing that has apparently started over the past couple days called "sleep". I've heard it is only for the weak. But maybe as long as I don't make it a regular habit it will be OK.

It could be that I misunderstood though, and "sleep is for a week". That seems pretty intense.

What do you plan on doing when you get to the bottom of this season - and did you remember to look at the lid for the inspirational saying?

If sleep is "for a week", then I'm so there. If it's "for the weak", then I'm the weakest person ever. What I look forward to most in the day is being able to sleep at the end of it. Trufax.

Also, disgusting news for the day is the marriage of 51-year-old LOST star, Doug Hutchison, to a 16-year-old. And with the consent of her parents, too. *shudder*

I only hope your Oracles stay Oracles and don't turn into Batgirls. I like Batgirls and all, but they're a lot more common than Oracles.

And while the sleep of the weak and sleep of the week are both highly recommended by four out of five figments of my imagination, there is a lot to be said for increasing one's own oracular ability by sleep-deprivation.

Or, at least, I FELT like some kind of bodiless head shouting deep truths about the future and the nature of nonlinear existence after I didn't sleep for four days that one time.

I would just love a week of sleep. Even a day of sleep. I considered using a partial sick day and sleeping today a bit and getting things done, but then I actually feel more awake than I usually do and actually feel too crappy to sleep. Job stress preventing me from being able to actually sleep. So I guess I'll go in *sigh*.

Annabelle was barking at stuff last night and prevented me from getting good sleep. Ack. It's going to be a long day and I'm stressed about it before even getting out of bed :(

Yesterday I ate breakfast in the garden, got ice cream, went mini golfing, completed a week's worth of homework for two classes, registered at a birthing center, planted some spinach, and posted to my LJ. Today I am feeling very sleepy at work. I would like to take a nap, but alas I cannot.

After work, I am going to start working on my homework for this week, so I don't have to do it all at the last minute again. Also maybe will get a chance to bake a pie and work on some knitting.

My 4-legged fuzzy Oracle (aka my Feline Companion) has neither a slide nor offers help with sleep. In fact, he often works against the very concept of sleep. Apparently I should be awake 24/7 to feed and offer scritches upon demand. :-)

I'd like to sleep for a couple of days though. I've got more than 4 weeks of vacation on the books so I'm considering using a couple just to engage in a little Zen-time for myself. :-)

As for what I plan to do when we get to the bottom of this season? Hrrrrrmmmmm.... finding ways to sustain the momentum that I've had by writing every week! Gotta keep movin' on with projects in the works. I can't afford to hit the brakes! :-)

Make certain that when you get to the bottom of the slide you go around and climb up the ladder to the top. If you decide, instead, to climb back up the slide itself and just pivot at the top you have to be super-duper careful.

Yesterday was my day off and I took a nap. It was possibly the best part of my whole day. Now I need to get out of here before it gets any hotter and go for my run.

I totally need more sleep! I try to get to bed at a reasonable time, but then get caught up in my sad little FB addictions and... well... *poof* goes my sleep.

On the other hand, this evening das Hubby and I will be seeing Steve Martin in concert - "An Evening of Bluegrass and Banjo". He's a banjo player, don't ya know!

On the third hand, I found out that one of my cats, Archer, apparently likes tomato soup! I had some for dinner last night, didn't finish it, and left the bowl on my bedside table. When we got back home after seeing Green Lantern, he follows me into the bedroom, sticks his nose into my soup bowl, and happily laps up tomato soup! I guess it's because I use some milk when making it - not just water - but still - tomato soup!!

What I love so much about that video, is that there were so many references to various Michael Jackson videos, but absolutely none of them would be even a little bit obvious unless you'd seen Michael Jacksons videos :)

It has taken a couple really solid blows in the last 24 hours. Tell me about something good that you are doing (bonus points if it's somehow tied to Idol!)

There are enough petty and selfish people doing petty, selfish and downright small deeds. Let me know if there are more of "us" than there are of "them".

I'm seeing this - and feel like I should help but any good stuff I'm doing feels ordinary. I donated blood yesterday, and I'm running in a charity race for the local children's hospital on Sunday.

I think there are more of "us" than "them", but at times it can be hard to see past the general stupidity to find it. I hope your day gets better.
