Green Room - Week 9 - Day 7

It's "D Day". OK. Technically it's Tuesday.

But around here that has started meaning that it's the end of the poll for the Main Competition http://community.livejournal.com/therealljidol/414212.html and the start of another for the people who are assembling, looking for another shot to get into it http://community.livejournal.com/therealljidol/414642.html

But the "D" should stand for "Dangerous"!

Or "Dreaded"

or "Dairy products".

Any number of things really.

Those of us who had the day off Monday are going back to the grind today. Making the doughnuts and shoveling the snow, escorting the man with the donkey through the valley to gather all the coffee beans, so that the skeptics in the trailer can have the walls fall away and realize that they have been kidnapped and are now somewhere unexpected, at the mercy of Dominos!

The rest of you may never have actually left your regular routine, or gotten back to it, and are now sitting on a mountain of gold coins you collected from going down every sewer pipe you came across.

But however you are spending your Tuesday, I hope that it's fun.

Or at least you survive it.

Unless I am marked as your beneficiary. In which case, do whatever you think you need to do! :)

UGH, picking up poo after human or animal is just ewww. Mind you I pick up after my dog as a course of life. But human poo is especially gross.

I totally like dairy products. Tis a crying shame that I am intolerant.

However, there are much more pressing things that D is for

- Drafts (which is how I have spent my Tuesday day and it appears to be how I will spend my Tuesday night as well)

- the Dark Depths of Despair. Or at least keeping them back.

I think I shall go and make a cup of tea. Hopefully that will help!

I had fun spending my Tuesday reading Idol entries/voting and watching tennis. Now I'm trying to decide whether to watch Robin Hood (the 2010 film) or wait until more tennis comes on. Decisions, decisions.

I'm rarely in the Green Room because by the time I get to this part of the Internets there's 150+ comments. I think I might make the top ten this time, not sure. However, I can't tell you about my Tuesday or how my morning went. It's still Monday for me & revving close to 11:30pm. So...

MLK Day was great. It's late; I'm pretty sure I'll have a great morning & the next time I'll see this thread it will be close to noon, if not after. But I might pretend....

Had a great morning...it's busy at work...there was no coffee in the pot so I had to make some...Had tons of e-mails in my in-box & this morning muffins were bagels, still awesome!

Hell, if my Tuesday morning actually sucks, I'll just go with what I just wrote.

I spent my Tuesday so far in the dark, blissfully unconcious :) Up and checking out the ice now, and wishing I was back in bed!

They did clear the road, kinda sorta, so heading into work as per usual. Gotta earn the gold coins and hope I avoid the man-eating plants in the pipes :D

D is for "depressed."

I found out yesterday via Facebook that one of my long-time LJ friends, olliesmama - whom I fortunately had the pleasure to meet in person on a visit to Texas in 2004 - passed away last weekend due to various health problems, not the least of which was her brittle diabetes and her resultant kidney issues - she'd been undergoing dialysis for quite a while. She was only 38, and leaves behind a teenaged son. So that's got me down, as it is still fresh to me, even though she passed on the 10th.

Back to work today though, and bowling tonight. Life goes on for most of us, whether we will it to or not.

Well, I did have donuts this morning.

Posted my SCI entry last night, so the "D" words there would be Dig Deep and Devastating as I Detail a Decision that would Drive De-evolution towards Dissolution and Divorce.

Add to that, a "Disclaimer" -- reactions to my entry have me declaring that, yes, the story is true, and, no it is NOT recent nor referring to the person I am with now. My deepest apologies for freaking people out.

Okay, so now it seems my mobile phone is officially dead. I can't turn it on any more. Given it's about 6.5 years old, I'm glad it's lasted so long. But that means I need a new phone. Can you still get non smart phone phones? LOL. I'll probably upgrade to a smart phone anyway. Does anyone know if there are any besides the iPhone 4 that allow you to film video in HD?

Meanwhile, the husband and I have been kind of marathoning Battlestar Galactica season 4 - 2 episodes a night the past few nights.

D is for Damn, it's been a long Day. It's almost 9.30pm here and I'm very ready for bed. Considering I've had to go out three times today for separate, non-combinable errands/appointments and I've been up since just before 5am, I think it's time to call it a night.

Of course, that just means I'll dither around online for another half-hour at least and then be dismayed at the fact that the washing up hasn't miraculously taken care of itself.

So perhaps D is for Dithering?

Just woke up. Looked outside. There's fresh snow. Get in front of computer. Find out school is canceled today - there's 3-6 inches of mixed precipitation expected today, and a tenth of an inch of ice this evening. Regardless, the daily grind for some things must continue, such as going out for cat supplies. You don't have snow days when you have cats that rule the home!

I'd also like to take a moment to plug some people:

All of Poll 1. I know there's a lot of Idol to read, but if you're not following the lower polls, you're missing out on a lot of good writing, and there's some real gems buried in there. Possibly even some writers you'd really like to follow. But you won't know that unless you dig in, now will you. :)
