Yes. Yes, I am going out like this. But I swear, as soon as I drop my roommate off at work so I can borrow her car today, I am coming right back home to shower and change, and I will be dressing nice for my campus tour and meetings with Fin. Aid, Adviser, and Admission's Counselor as I decide whether or not school is an option this fall. Then, hopefully, I go to look at a car, if the guy ever sends me the address and directions like he said he would.

Also, I just finished reading this article (http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2010/08/classification-and-internet-censorship-as-an-election-issue/) and am outraged. Especially this part:

A couple of months ago the federal Labor government changed the Customs regulations to force people to declare whether they had any ‘pornography’ when returning to Australia. It didn’t matter if the material was legal. If you had anything that could possibly fit the definition of ‘pornography’ such as a Playboy magazine, a lesbian journal, a photo of your partner naked or, worse still, an image of the two of you making love on a mobile or a laptop, you had to declare it or risk prosecution. Customs officers now have the right to search your browsing history and iPhoto for the catch-all reason of investigating ‘pornography’.

It may possibly be unwise for me to ever move back home :(

Had a great weekend, missed you all, which makes me wonder how I'm going to survive the "between seasons" deal, especially if I don't know if I'll ever see you again until the DAY IT STARTS BACK UP. Which will just about kill me.

Anyway... I'm finding it REALLY hard to vote objectively at this late in the game. I almost want to just vote for all three, then I wonder what good that'll do, and just haven't voted yet. D:

On the up side, I tried one of the McDonald's strawberry-banana smoothies this morning - pretty tasty! On the down side, our bowling team finished third in our section of the league. We were only one game behind the second place team. Sadly, only the first and second place teams got plaques. We got nada, zip, nil. Ah well.

I'm happy today because I have a copywriting brief. In other words, I'm being given billable writing projects for creative services. Clients will be billed for my time to write.

It's kind of scary and validating and amazing.

Especially since this is *exactly* the way I imagined, best case scenario, when I took this job. That I'd get my foot in the door, and gradually get exposure to the copywriting side in the hopes of getting to move in that direction when a position came up. Now I'm being officially mentored by the senior copywriter, and I'm getting copywriting hours. Somebody pinch me. I can't believe this is my life. :)

Doing odd jobs around the house then going off to have lunch at the Noodles place w a friend I haven't seen in two years! She had a baby the evening after our last lunch out. We have been in touch via Facebook but have not been able to meet up in person for two years now. That awful, crazy, life-time and energy sucking thing called work has interfered. She is changing jobs and has time again. Yay for time.aye while I am out I will scoot over to the Trader Joe's market in the 'hood and pick up some fun treats for dinner eats as well.
Had one of those back to school dreams the other night. Where I am looking fir a class in some building and can't find my way or I lose track of time.

Hey, I actually got dressed today! So yes, I will hopefully be going out like this. My daughter was supposed to go to a friend's house today, but her husband had an emergency, so they're playing at my house instead. So the grocery shopping has had to wait until this afternoon. No biggie. I just need to save enough energy to be able to convince my kids that going to the grocery store in the midafternoon is a GREAT idea. Otherwise we'll be out of food by the morning!

I'm doing pretty well today! I'm learning. I'm trying to make the world a better place. I'm thinking. I'm reading. I'm thankful for many things.

I'm not thankful for the headache I have, though.

As for what I'm wearing... shorts and a t-shirt? Can't imagine it's anything you haven't seen before. But I probably won't go out in public in it, as they're my bumming around the house clothes. At the moment, I'm not sure I'm going out in public at all. The weather down here in NY has not been treating me well at all. Yesterday I went for a little walk and felt so ick afterward. Which is a bummer, because there are a lot of things I could be doing...

But! I am glad that I have adorable cats to snuggle. I am glad that I have a fan and air conditioning to cool me down. I am glad that I have books, tv, and computer to provide me with mental stimulation and entertainment. I am glad that I have had a chance to hang out with Tea, at least, while I've been here. I am glad that the AP got Helen Thomas's old seat and that Fox News didn't.
