Greetings from the depths of my complex of underground labs!

I've got all sorts of new friends for you to play with!! All made right here in the lab, so you know they are certified 'Merican!!

No need to stop them and ask for identification or build a wall to keep them out!!

You don't have to even worry about them building anything 3 blocks away - because they have been genetically altered to not have thumbs!

Half-monkey/half-ponies, half java_fiend/half coffee grinder, half emo_snal/half guy who travels made entirely out of bees, half kittymichaels/half gizmoagogo - those are just some of the fun!!

It will be interesting to see if that plays out in the later stages of the day as the voting comes down to the wire.


Speaking of the voting - and specifically the partners - anyone want to talk about how awesome they are??? :D I think all of them did a tremendous job and I hope they are hearing that from the rest of you as well!

Oooh, just had a thought. It'd be pretty awesome to see someone win, and then their partner complete in the next season, and win that.

Ugh, I feel really bad, because I really, really wanted to read and review this week's entries, but this is the week I'm moving, so my life is full of boxes and very little time to read.

I've read a few of the entries, but haven't really had time to comment. I do think it's awesome of everyone who participated.

I have entered the zen state again. No peeking at the polls for me today! I decided yesterday that I would keep myself busy today by making a rather epic casserole that my friend sent me the recipe of. Now I am keeping myself doubly busy by also writing my Token entry!

I'm totally NOT feeling awesome today. I'm having morning sickness again and good lord we're HALFWAY through this pregnancy already. Also, my head hurts. Also, I need to get off of this computer for awhile.

On the bright side, I get to spend the day at home and we'll be cooking pasta, homemade sauce and meatballs later today :) Plus, I get to read through the competitors entries and do my voting.

I hate you Gary!

Well, not really *offers cookies*. I am very VERY glad you gave us those subjects in advanced, because since my parents are coming to stay the weekend, I need to have all my entries in by friday if I get through the vote. It's NaNoWriMo all over again. Funnily enough, it's more fun than stressful. There's something about these things for me, that one subject is a chore, two is OMG that's impossible, but give me five and it's so far into the realm of the impossible that it just becomes fun and awesome instead. There is just no time for doubts.

Also, I LOVE the five fave entries subject. That's going up, regardless of whether I get voted through or not. I've already written it, there's nothing more inspiring than writing about awesome people.

My partner this week is quizzicalsphinx, and I'd urge everybody to check out her journal. She's an amazing writer, does snark recaps of pirate porn movies and True Blood, we almost ended up doing three entries about mortuary science. Go and read her, she is AWESOME.

I am kinda glad I had my real life partner last time, since alephz was already in the competition, but it is really fun to see so many of the contestants significant others out there to play.

The five favourite entries is my favourite, too. I've already posted mine but I haven't made it public yet. It's definitely the one I'm most looking forward to reading, too, because I think it'll really highlight the diversity of tastes. I hope plenty of people home game it :D

Yesterday was work day from HELL. I had a 1:30 doctor appointment (just a follow up) that I had to call and reschedule to SEPTEMBER because trying to a) get case files ready for a last-minute review, b) trying to enter 20 timesheets, and c) trying to answer phones for two teams was kicking my ARSE. No way could I get out of work by 1pm to get to the appointment. I was lucky to get out by 3pm for the second follow-up appointment I had that day.

Speaking of which, I now have a nifty little glucometer taped to my tummy (it's about 1.5" in size) that I have to wear until Thursday afternoon for the 3-day Continuous Glucose Monitoring that my doctor wants done. It's supposed to automatically test my blood glucose every 5 minutes and store the readings for download later. I still have to use a regular monitor in order to get readings that I can use, but there you go.

The nurse assures me that I won't set off any alarms when I go in and out of stores, LOL.

Wait... I'm confused... I thought Kevin was already half coffee grinder. And I know that Kris is made out of bees (it's unnerving to out for beers with him when there's that constant buzzing sound).

I have plans to play Dominion (http://riograndegames.com/games.html?id=278) tonight. Looking forward to it. Meeting up with a couple of friends I haven't seen in 7+ years.

I read all about Lady Gaga on the way in to work today, and I came to the realization that she's just 24 and thinks she has everything figured out. That kind of made me like her a little better.

I do happen to think my partner is extra awesome. We stayed up into the wee hours discussing moving and other plans, and it's kind of hitting me now about how stressful the next year of my life will be.

If I make it through the polls today, it's going to be a wild ride to get those five entries in. But I have to admit that I'm to the point where I kind of like the challenge.

Last night was just... oddness. There is much about the evening I don't recall... I do remember being at my computer but the next thing I know, I woke up in bed after a very strange/disturbing dream at about a quarter to 5 this morning. And the ol' noggin' has been a bit foggy all day. Oddness.

Originally I thought I'd been abducted by aliens... but seeing that Gary's been experimenting in his lab again, it makes more sense now. Also explains that odd itching and burning, I think. :-p

I've read all of the entries and really think there are some fantastic pieces... bug, huge kudos to the final 7 and their partners... really great stuff everybody!

So... Tea and I were talking about how many of this season's competitors we had met in person, and I am feeling pretty good at 9!

I think that Tea may end up in the lead, though... even though I lost count of hers.
