Green Room - Week 32 - 6

I was going over some basic demographics of the remaining contestants last night and realized that the whole "continuing white woman living in the US" previous winner streak was in almost as much trouble as the "guy winning it" - which is on par with "damn foreigner taking it all".

So the different possibilities are roughly even. The next few votes will probably so us how that will shake itself out. Right now it's a cross between a curiosity and "about time that happened".

I think that says a lot of good things about the group we have left, as well as the voters.

I am a very very very very sad panda today.

I started in on a 30-day shred yesterday, and promptly hurt my foot. Said foot was doing fine until I put on flip flops to go get dinner. On the way back to my car, I must have flipped a bit too much and stretched the hurt part of my foot. It didn't stop shooting pain all night.

I woke up this morning and stretched out, everything seemed fine, then I walked on it. Screaming shooting pain again. I don't think even wrapping it will allow me to continue the shred and I'll have to just start over. Might even take a week to heal.

SO SAD, FOR SERIOUS. :(

True enough. I need to build that wall. Maybe an underground electric wall. I also need to start "randomly" stopping people to demand that they show papers.

Sure - they are equal in numbers, and one of the men has immunity. But if it wasn't for you, the Mighty LJ Sisterhood would have taken out *two* of the remaining males last week!! I'll never underestimate the women of LJ and their power! Which is why I say "almost as much trouble"! ;)

I only looked at the polls twice yesterday, and so far have not looked yet today. I think I may actually manage to keep away until they've closed! Although it's REALLY weird not having the slightest clue how things are going. I even went as far as bookmarking the "enter results" link so that I can submit my votes without being "spoiled" XD I've actually had a couple of people tell me I look "safe" but no matter how things look now, I don't think anyone can feel safe but the lucky two with immunity XD

I made some awesome pasta sauce last night, because third flatmate was away and when that happens, we go all gourmet since we can cook fancy stuff and not be expected to share :p Going to finish off the leftover ingredients today so that all evidence is destroyed! I might also bake a secret cake or some cookies or something.

Curiosity question, Gary! Just from looking at the polls right now.

If the polls were to close with the same person in last place but a different person in second-to-last, is the person in the second poll the one who goes home, or is it determined by who has the lowest votes overall? Or do we have to wait and see what happens if that happens?

Controversy! I may or may not have read entries for only half of the people I voted for :O ('Cause, yanno, people seem to want to know about these things XD)

I might've spent more time reading had the power not been out in my entire suburb for 11 hours on Sunday, and had I not got my iMac back and thus been trying to restore all my data from the hard drive they took out and replaced, and other similar things that have cropped up. My iMac still isn't fully restored. I have several massive video files to copy that keep crapping up and it's pissing me off.

I don't think there's anything wrong with voting for someone you usually like even if you haven't read them this week. It's not really any different from voting for someone you usually like when you feel like they've had a particularly weak week and deserve to still be in the next week. I mean, you run the risk that this might be the week that they write about how much fun they have drowning kittens or trying to run down old ladies in the intersection, but I think you'd also notice if someone's vote total was uncharacteristically low and go check to see why.

I don't know... more than half of the remaining contestants are either white U.S. women or men. I'm not convinced that those two groups are in so much danger!

By my count, there are three white US women left (gratefuladdict, beautyofgrey and strryeyedgrrl) and three men, two of whom aren't white. So that actually isn't as great a representation of those demographics as it has been in the past. Now I'd argue that those three white US women all have a very strong shot at the title, provided they bring enough chicken to distract kittymichaels, but this year it really could be one of us non-Usanians who could bring home the prize.

weekend was nice - Carrie & Claudia looked at houses yesterday - and they're going to make an offer on one of them...it's really nice and as it turns out our lender is also a lender with the bank that owns it. (that bank has good sweet financing deals).

We'll be busy soon...although this is a bit stressful as well.

Other than that - we've been trying to stay cool, from the hot weather outside. A/C's my friend...

Sorry I'm late to the party - we had a staff meeting this morning at 11:30, with lunch provided from Chik-fil-a, yum! There's some leftovers if kittymichaels doesn't mind breaded chicken, LOL.

Had a nice 3-day weekend. Went up to Louisville to have lunch with a friend at the Olive Garden. We didn't meet for our bowling league yesterday because of the holiday weekend, so minikin and her family and myself bowled anyway, just to keep in practice. I got a 94, 132, and 122, so I was pretty happy with that! Then we all went back to our place for pizza and to watch Airport, which I hadn't seen probably since it came out, and which Minikin's kids (ages 20 and 16) hadn't ever seen, although they had seen Airplane. It was fun!

It felt like a short long weekend... lots of downtime though which was nice.

The co-worker is back from Ireland so my work day should start getting back to some semblance of normalcy... meaning I have more time to slack off since I won't be running the whole office solo. lol... But wow oh wow, how I want to visit Ireland now.
