Sooooo ready for the week to be over!

But I'm feeling grateful today. My coworker pointed out that my tire was low, a random stranger at the gas station helped me refill it, and then the tire repair place stayed open late so I could come in and get it fixed last night, for free. Having a drill bit stuck in my tire could've ruined my whole week, but people helped me out, and so it didn't. Pretty rad, if you ask me.

I've been having "Idol dreams" again, this time about some sort of gathering (I think it has something to do with the LOST finale) and I kept getting tweets from you telling people about it, to make sure they were going to be there.

The last couple of days I've woken up and actually checked my phone to *make sure* that you weren't really sending me reminders about everyone meeting at the church!

This week kinda sucked, in all honestly.

I was down and out until 3pm with a migraine yesterday, which doubly sucks when you can't take an Excedrin.

Then today I tried to get my car fixed, but chickened out because I don't have a place to jack up the car, so I'd have to "borrow" someone's parking lot. Then when I get there, I have to sit in the 90° heat while I wait for the car to cool down so I don't accidentally burn myself... THEN! All I have is a handful of wrenches and who knows if I even have the right sizes.

Soooo... I'm either going to pay $50 to get a garage to put it in FOR me, or maybe try again later when I can have someone around for moral support... :\

My friend's on his way to his cousin's funeral. Any good wishes to his family is always welcome.

I'm going to try and make a green bean casserole, only I'm adapting the recipe with tuna instead. I dunno if I can completely get rid of the cream of mushroom or not... hmmm...

I read and voted and can't wait to see how it turns out! This is almost as good as a season finale... but every week!

A good friend of mine got a call yesterday about a friend of his. He drove off a bridge with his 7 month old baby in the car and they both died. So terribly sad :(

You can use any cream-of soup if you don't like cream of mushroom. Campbell's make cream of celery soup, or cream of potato soup, if either of those are more appealing. Or you could probably use sour cream, even!

How am I today? Probably not a question I should answer in a public domain. Crappy is one way to define how I am doing today. Completely crappy. I could use more colorful language, but I am not sure even that could get the point across.

I think I should pack up my dog and hit the road and run far, far away! Grrr!

Every little thing is going wrong on top of the big issues and is making me want to throw my keyboard out the window and hopefully hit my soon to be ex husband on the head while I am at it. Oh, that was mean, wasn't it?

Other than that, I was up until 2 AM giving advice to my baby brother on religion (or lack thereof) and parents. I actually told a 15 year old boy that he is smarter than his parents and meant it. How sad is that now? But it's the truth.

Today, I am the Mayor of Grumpyville. Actually, that's not *totally* true... I'm still just pissed that the big showdown I'd been primed for didn't go the way I wanted it to go. What burns my ass is that we outplayed them in every facet of the game... but we killed ourselves with some stooooopid mistakes. We beat ourselves, flat out. And that makes me one angry bear. *sigh*

Other than that, things are gooooood here. Gots my bag o' dry Cookie Crisp and a soy dark cherry mocha frap for breakfast so that makes me a less angry bear. :-)

Oh and constantly poll-watching... oy, is this whole thing is totally a sphincter-puckering experience... and I'm sure that it's going to be madness for the next few hours. *fingers crossed*

Aha - Green Room!

I'm more than ready for the week to be over. I've finally gotten a whole bunch of filing caught up at work (yay) since we're not sure when (or if) the caseworker will be back (boo). I *think* she's on medical (possibly mental health) leave, but I'm not yet sure. It's very argh-making!

Yesterday, while I was on the bus, I started thinking about just how much of an inspiration Idol has been for me. And I'm not talking in terms of writing and creativity, either (although that's also the case). What I mean is that the people I read and met here helped to remind me of my own personal agency... That I didn't have to continue existing in a life of comfortable discontent--that I could make changes, pursue dreams, and make choices based on my own values instead of those of other people. If it weren't for Idol, I'm not sure that I would have found the resolve to move back to Maine and start changing my life into something that I love.

So thanks. Thanks for sharing stories of your own successes and struggles. And for listening to and responding to mine. Thanks for giving me a chance to get back in touch with my dreams and values. Thanks for being so danged encouraging and supportive as I've undertaken this big crazy life change adventure.

My week is... pretty good! I'm not ready for it to be done yet as I still have exciting stuff to do. Although I am ready for results to be posted so I'll know if I make it through to another week.

I have to say I feel the same way about my Idol experience. It really has opened my eyes to many things. I am realizing things about myself and my life that I may not have realized without it. I am making changes in my life too, all because of it. Heck, I am even finally getting the nerve to leave a marriage that I have been unhappy with for a long time because writing here and talking to people has made me realize that I need to get away from the toxicity.

It really is awesome. I have no words for it beyond what you said. I am so happy that it has helped you along your way as well, that's awesome!

Well, since it's probably my last few hours as an idol contestant, I wanted to pop in and say how much I've enjoyed this experience with all of you.

This week has been truly awful for me between morning sickness and a work load that's been unfathomable along with my job search. Luckily, it's ALMOST over, and I'm hoping that June will bring me some luck :)
