But this isn't just any ole Green Room, it's a trainee Green Room being filmed for a documentary, so just ignore the cameras following you around and just talk about all of your problems as if you weren't talking to a stranger while being filmed!

I have a dent in my finger due to cutting out magnetic paper dolls last night for my niece's birthday gift. She's a fan of all things vintage (at almost 13) and so when I saw this instructional blog post (http://www.onepearlbutton.com/2009/12/tutorial-magnetic-paper-dolls.html), I knew I had to make them for her. They were fun to put together for her. And now I need to get more adhesive magnet sheets so I can make her more. I got quite a bit out of one sheet, but have a ton of printouts still.

Other than that, it's another busy day here as I start prepping to get more things sent out for submissions. I'm beginning to hate submissions as I now have six items out that I'm waiting to hear back from. Gah. But, hopefully, they'll all pay off.

Having a nurse for a boss is a funny thing. She likes to take care of people, so she often brings in food (I've gained 30 lbs since starting here!) When the H1N1 thing was kicking up she brought everyone huge tubs of Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer. Today, because I'm getting over a cold, everyone came in to find a brand-new box of Kleenex on their desk.

My cat is not on the internet. In fact, she resents the internet because it takes time and lap-space away from her. She can't imagine what's in that glowy box that would make me want to pay more attention to it than to her furry highness!

Good morning! Last night I went to see my friends' band perform. They are called Theodore Treehouse. Their mission statement is to make people happy. They succeeded! It was tons of fun and I got awesome hugs.

It also means that I missed out on my TV viewing. But hey! Sometimes going out and having fun is more important than TV. Sometimes.

My cats aren't really on the internet. Just their images. They are Luddites or hippies or some such nonsense.

49 hours to go wearing my octopus/Medusa-like EEG machine on my head. I look like the freakiest freaks of all freaks that ever existed, I swear. You know that blue opera-singing alien from The Fifth Element? That's absolutely me until Friday at 11 am.

If the weight from this thing lets me function (it gives me terrible migraines), I'll write a free topic. But I have a feeling I'll be sleeping for most of the remaining 49 hours so I can ignore this beast on my brain.

I love that blue opera-singing alien! One of my friends dressed up like her for a SciFi convention, which is amusing since she's like 5' 2" - but she wore some kind of short stilts under her outfit and pulled it off. :)

I think you need to stay awake and move about as much as possible if you're trying to have a seizure episode - whatever has been most likely to set you off is what you need to be doing, IMO. *Hugs*

Good morning!!! I am feeling accomplished thus far (it's probably downhill from here). Managed to pick up some materials from the school for the 504/IEP Meeting of Doom (tomorrow, tomorrow - *freak*), and also made it to court in another county to have a minor traffic violation dismissed. The DA was in a good mood, she dismissed the first 5 people in front of me, too. :D

I want to write on the free topic - it works perfectly with an entry that has brewing in my head... but I have a lot of studying/preparation to do for tomorrow's meeting. It's huge in my head and I'm feeling sick to the stomach b/c I'm afraid they're going to deny him a 504 Plan (http://www.greatschools.org/LD/school-learning/section-504.gs?content=868). So I'm trying to read through the law and materials all over again, and building up my argument as to why my son needs accomodations in the classroom, and also what accomodations he needs. I wish I were walking into this feeling more confident.

In my experience, IEPs come down to issues of functional impairment. Sometimes it can help to frame your case in terms of that.

Now that I've written that, though, it occurs to me that you've been doing nothing but researching this and have a far, far better idea of what will work than I do. I guess I just want to help. :)

The only thing I am pleased about is my noticeable improvement in arm/shoulder strength at PT. As in, a 50% increase measured by the Biodex (http://www.biodex.com/rehab/system4/system4_feat.htm) machine.

I would love to hear some good things/jokes to bring the smile back to my face.

I was up most of the night. One of my dear friends just found out that she is pregnant - despite having an IUD. This wouldn't be terrible, since she is engaged, but she has lost a baby before, and becoming pregnant while having an IUD greatly increases the odds of an ectopic pregnancy, so we're pretty concerned.

They have a doctor's appointment today, so I'm on pins and needles waiting to hear if my little niece or nephew has found their way safely to the uterus. All three of them could use all the good thoughts you guys can send their way.

On a related note, I had forgotten how awkward it can feel to march into a grocery store in the middle of the night, by yourself, and buy pregnancy tests. The dude totally bagged them for me and said, "Good luck!" as delicately as possible. I resisted the urge to drop to the floor in hysterics and waaaaaaaaaaail about how my babydaddy left me and now I'll have to resort to pregnant stripping to pay the bills...
