Green Room - Week 7 - Day 4
Dec. 11th, 2009 09:09 amThe deadline to get in your entry is tomorrow afternoon and there are still quite a few to go: http://community.livejournal.com/therealljidol/278758.html
But check out the ones that *are* in. Because there is some incredible work in there already.

The subject came up last night that some contestants, even after I have said it several times, might not have gotten a very specific message.
So I'll say it again. I'll even put it in bold.
It's OK to vote for yourself.
Some people don't want to do it because they don't feel right about it. I can understand that, although you're coming out and showcasing your work in public, there's at least *some* self-promotion gene in you. Even if you're just faking it. ;)
If you like an entry, support it. Regardless of who wrote it. Even if that person is you. Unless of course you really don't like yourself, your entries, and really just want to see you eliminated! "Get out of my way. . .uh, myself!!"
But considering how close most of these votes have been, having one more vote in your column is never a bad thing.
The second part of this, that I haven't been asked, but I've noticed it - It's OK for contestants to vote. Preferred actually. A number of you aren't.
I assume there is a reason. I have heard some people say that since they haven't read all the entries that they want to be fair and so they don't vote at all.
This works, right up to the point where something you *have* read and loved gets eliminated by one vote.
You obviously can do this any way you want to do it. That goes triple for voting. But if you don't vote, you don't get a say in who stays and who goes.
If you are willing not to have that, don't be surprised when someone else isn't.

Do not say such distress causing commentary! Moving back to Maine is actually one of the things that I want most!
Besides, if I can't regain my naturally thick skin, I can always pack on the pounds for a little insulation.

Date: 2009-12-11 05:36 pm (UTC)I think if you go the insulation route, you're going to need to pack on roughly 600 pounds or so to compensate for the thinning of your blood. :-)

Date: 2009-12-11 05:41 pm (UTC)What?! I do not think that I can pack on 600 pounds. I also think that you underestimate my ability to reacclimate to my native environment. You can take the girl out of Maine, but you can't take the Maine out of the girl.

Date: 2009-12-11 07:02 pm (UTC)Oh you can take Maine outta the girl alrighty-o. And I don't doubt your sincere ability to *want* to reacclimate... I doubt your body's ability to *want* to reacclimate. It'd be like ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH! Don't put me in the freezer again!!! Nooooooooooooo! Your body would betray you. Without of course, about 600 more pounds. lol...

Date: 2009-12-11 07:19 pm (UTC)My body WILL reacclimate. You don't wear shorts and sandals to school in 15 degree weather without some sort of special genetics! It won't betray me. Besides, I have to spend more time out of doors in NYC than I did in Maine. Also, flannel-lined jeans and Carhartt's double thicks are considered fashionable choices back there.

Date: 2009-12-11 09:07 pm (UTC)Shorts and sandals? Didn't I read something today about you being bundled up like the Sta-Puft Marshmallow Man? :-p
no subject
Date: 2009-12-11 09:11 pm (UTC)Yeah, shorts and sandals. But, I did also wear nice big scarves and mittens! And I'm not Sta-Puff today! I've just got my big scarf. It's not like I wear a sleeping bag jacket!

Date: 2009-12-11 10:15 pm (UTC)LOL... well I'm glad you're not looking like Mr. Sta-Puft today. lol...
