Actually, I've got the flu - even though I got a flu shot! And of course I get sick just in time for the weekend- what's with that??

I'm watching the Sci-fi Channel remake of Children of the Corn... it's awful, so I expect to get a lot of Intro posts read this afternoon!

Well, I'm busy reading through Topic 0's and creating my spreadsheet of names (shaddup). So yeah, I probably DO need to take precautions... anyone got any rose-colored glasses? Latex gloves? Spare cuppa Frappuccino I can slurp on? :)

Hubby brought home Panera bagels this morning, w00t! We got caught up on watching Psych and Monk and Numb3rs. He's just gone to bed (he works nights, hence his username of knightaudit). When he gets up we're going to go to the 8pm showing of The Invention of Lying. :)

Picked up some yummy stuff at the Greenmarket today (it's a farmer's market for NYC). Local cauliflower, tomatoes, corn, potatoes, arugula, sunflower shoots, maple syrup, artisan bread, apple cider, and cider donuts! Absolutely wonderful.

My allergies are also easing up a bit, so I'm on a lower dose of Benadryl and finally feeling capable of thought, focus, and self-expression.

Going pretty well so far. Took Sigrid up to the shopping street where she had her first donkey ride EVER and loved it. And she also rode the bus for the first time (she was a bit more leery about that one!).

Tomorrow visiting my in-laws (gah) where hopefully I will finally get some sewing done (I'm just a beginner!).

So far, it's been a pretty good morning. I woke up to hot, fresh cinnamon rolls fresh from the oven. I had a chance to read the wonderful comments on my Intro post which helped me feel good this morning. Rich, the boys and I went to the library and their monthly book sale (Note to self: next month is the 1/2 price sale. Christmas presents for the boys?!!!) Then it was a run to Big Lots, lunch at Steak-n-Shake and finally home.

Both boys are napping and I think Rich and I are going to spend time leveling our characters up for our monthly game tomorrow.

Hope everyone that's feeling sick gets feeling better. *passes hot tea around to anyone who wants some, with lemon, cream, sugar and honey sitting on the side* Happy weekend, all!

Carrie took her car in for servicing - it's ready to be picked up, so soon as Claudia's showered & dressed, going to do that. We plan to have Dim Sum for lunch afterward :-)

My weekend is going great so far!

Played a six-man game of Risk last night that only ended up being 3 hours instead of like 6-7. Came in third place, so I'm excited. (Because yes, I claimed Australia and then kept building. Because that's how it works.)

Tonight a huge group of us are going out for John's 27th birthday. We're getting to see friends we haven't seen in at least a year. Plus there will be Southern Comfort. And we have a D/D. All is good.

Tomorrow we'll be eating Pigs in a Blanket (for those non-western PA peoples, that's cooked cabbage stuffed with hamburger and rice and smothered in a tomato sauce) and coconut cream pie (because John is not a cake man).

Not looking forward to going back to work on Monday... :/

It's been a quiet weekend here reading idol entries, preparing to write my own, and just doing laundry and other household things.
