There really should be some sort of “My Bad” class offered in schools. Not just for kids growing up, but when you get older as a refresher course.

Especially on the internet, but also in real life, I think this is a skill missing from day to day life, and it seems to be getting worse.

Instead of acknowledging, “Oh yeah, messed up on that one!” you get people who just dig in further, hanging on to whatever half-cocked notion they were defending, and usually try to turn it around to make their stance “the right one”.

Some of this can be blamed on people seeing apologies as a form of weakness, and launching into an attack as soon as they sense it, trying to get even more concessions. Which, of course, makes people less likely to want to put themselves in that vulnerable position.

Such a class would be good for both parties, just to get them to chill the f- out and actually *listen* to what the other person is saying, and learn to communicate.

Oh, who am I kidding? You people are all wrong.
