Here we are, the start of the last week of Season 4!!!!

It seems kind of silly to say, but I really am going to miss you guys over the summer. Even the ones on my FL, it won't be the same. Nothing is quite like Idol, even the things pretending to be!*G*

Ah well, it will give me another reason to look forward to Season 5!

For now though, I'm looking forward to seeing who will be our next Idol!

Hi Kizzy. I know what you mean. I had fully intended on going downtown today but no way. I wouldn't put my dog through that.

Oh god, I thought Ember was going to keel over when I took her out last night. She's a pretty hardy dog, and she usually tolerates heat quite well, but I think this heat wave's thrown her for a loop. She and Jack move themselves around like chess pieces on the tile floor in the kitchen.

Yeah. All of our floors are wood so at least there is no carpet to hold the heat.

I had no idea carpet holds in heat. Honestly. It never occurred to me. No wonder why my house is a hot box!

Generally, carpet is better in the winter, and hardwood is better in the summer.

My parents stripped the floors of our old farmhouse, when they bought it, and then made wall-to-wall "rugs" from remnants that they would store in the attic when they didn't need them.

There's hardwood under the carpet except for Mom's bedroom and the den. I've been wanting to pull up the carpet anyway because I think we'd have less of a dander issue *looks at The Kidz* But I somehow can't picture having a portable w/w carpet for the winter -- at least not in this house.

Tile or hardwood floors are so much easier to maintain withanimals. Much easier for flea control. Not that my dogs have fleas usually but ya never know.
