But it went AWESOMELY. Even my video that I threw together at the last minute was a huge hit. Oh yes, and my mother put on a couple puppet shows with her troupe. Definitely a day to remember.

I am just home from my first Black Tie affair in A Very Long Time.

I had a good time in spite of myself, although my feet are sore. I am not a fan of high heels, or of the beef that was served right next to the fish on every plate (unless I wanted a puff pastry full of overcooked veggies).

Still... I got to meet some mucky-mucks. I got to see the inside of the Supreme Court and be suitably awed by how small the room seems. I got to stare at a Justice, even if I was not introduced.

And I decided that maybe I could do it again, if (you know) Blues twisted my arm or something.

Good morning. Happy mother's day to all who celebrate it! My dogs gave me kises this morning so I guess that counts as kisses from the kids!
We went to dinner for our anniversary last night and it was fabulous! Today we are taking the moms out for breakfast and they will come for dinner. Not my favorite day but the food will be good.

During worship services this weekend at church, we're receiving the first offering for Imagine² and there's a ground-breaking party this evening.

I'm excited to be able to give my first offering, and I'm excited to find out what the final totals are for pledges and for the first offering.

But I'm really excited that Flar and Tigger (who don't go to church) have agreed to come to the groundbreaking party tonight, as a mother's day gift to me.

Me, my mom, and my son are headed out of town for a big cookout at my cousin's place with my entire family for Mother's Day. I haven't gotten any presents, but that's because my kid is four and really has no clue what the holiday is all about. He just knows that he gets to see his cousins and play like crazy all day, so today is a day of bliss for him. And really, who needs presents when I get to wake up to an adorable kid kissing me on the forehead and telling me, "Mom, I'm starving to death. I need breakfast."

I am trying to get as caught up on work as I can. Especially since I'm putting my notice in tomorrow morning.

And I'm nervous as hell to do it.

Right now, I'm waiting for a 27 page fax to print out on my printer. It doesn't translate well from gotomypc through the system at work to my home printer.

And hey. In a few weeks, I won't need to work weekends anymore.

Not much happening this weekend, just enjoying it really rather then stressing about things.

Friday night I put money down for Soul Caliber Iv video game as I love that game but for the 360 version Yoda will be in it. Then also put money down for the Lego Indiana Jones game along with Lego Batman.
Yesterday I got my hair professionally colored for the 1st time.

I just drove 30 miles to Jodi's work in Fayetteville because Jodi left her purse at Barnes & Noble. I'm back, but as a father, that was the highlight of my day.

Of course, Jodi had a wonderful Mother's Day, getting gifts and being treated to Village Inn, as usual.

Well I had a great weekend!

From 1-4:30 yesterday, I did an open house at a 2.5 million dollar house (no, I'm not the listing agent, but the house is so big that the agent needs a 2nd to help show it). Holy cow that is a big house. I think I did 6 tours of the house, including the 15 minutes it took to turn on the lights and the 15 minutes it took to turn them off. My feet were very sore.

After that, Adam and I went into DC for our anniversary. We went to see a ballgame (the Nats lost, embarrassingly), and then we spent the night at a hotel right by the stadium. The really nice guy who checked us in also upgraded us to a suite. Sweet! Not sure why he did it; could have been because I am so nice. Could have been because we have a local address and he figured it was for a special occasion. In any case, the room was nice.

This morning we went to a seafood brunch at the Market Inn, a pretty famous restaurant in DC. It was decadent. I wasn't hungry until well after we usually eat dinner. yum.

And, finally, we got a new wireless router, to replace the one that died a horrible death last week. And so I can once again work on my crappy laptop, and write my two entries :-D
