Hope it's ok to pop in and say this, but I shared your comment with Toby (husband) to read to Lex (who is currently awake at University of MD Medical Center). She said, "I made it so boring with all that winning." ;) (You and I both know she's playing around. She wouldn't say that to be mean!)

She also did say congrats to the winner, so I'll post that separately here. But I wanted you to know she was amused by your comment. She truly was a hell of a threat.

Toby (Lex's husband) shared the poll results with Lex, and she said to tell you this: "Congrats, I know you earned it." Short but sweet. And thank you for the nice comment; thanks to everyone for them. I'll pass them to Toby to pass to her, and will keep people updated on my journal until she is ready to post again (unless Toby takes over, but he's been really busy, which well, is understandable and all). :)

Oh, of course! I don't mind a bit, though I'll obviously be happy when she's better and can do so herself!! And I know she's a friend of yours, so I'm sure she's happy you won. She misses it, but we've all reassured her that no one could be mad at her about what happened. If anything, her friends were concerned!

Lex is talking a little bit more, but is having some memory issues and speech issues. She recalls a lot of recent events - just not right before the coma. And she is struggling to recall the past. We're not sure if the post-COVID syndrome did something to her neurologically and screwed with the TBI she already has, or if the myxedema coma/lack of oxygen has left her with some brain damage. Considering her oxygen still isn't above 88%, it could be the last thing, but I hope not. And knowing her, I'm sure she doesn't want that. She was really smacked with a LOT OF STUFF at once, so the docs are trying to sort out what symptom goes to what condition before they send her home with home health care.

BUT once PT and OT and all of her docs clear her, she really can come home. Toby said something about Monday or Tuesday if she can stay awake and keep up with the schedule they are setting up (so something can kind of feel normal in her brain, I guess?). So we have a lot of hope.

I'm hoping her memory and speech issues are temporary. She may not remember things from a few days before entering the coma, but I sure hope the rest of it comes back with rest and healing and better oxygen levels. *fingers crossed*

We do too. She definitely doesn't remember the 2 days before the coma state (so... about two Thursdays ago up until last Saturday?), but she is recalling more of the past, bit by bit (the stuff not lost to her TBI, anyhow). She didn't recognize her dad at all at first but she does now, so it just took time. But her docs say some memory loss and damage to the brain will linger, so... she'll be staying in until they sort out what to do. Her oxygen is still not high enough to send her home, either. I think she'll be back next week. That's the hope, though!

And congrats on your victory! Lex is happy for you. I'm sure that, once she's up to it, she'll tell you herself. :)
