There were two polls, but I'm only going to make one Results post. Because this is the big one. The one that everyone has been waiting to see how it was going to turn out.

And besides, this week had unexpected results in both polls. So we might as well just put all the "Wha..." responses all in one place.

We're start with the main competition, since that is also where we are going to end, and might as well make things circular.

Once again, I asked for the Jury for their picks for who would receive immunity this week, and once again, it was really close. This time it came down to *a single vote*. That's the theme of the mini season after all. Those close calls and the one vote that either came in, or didn't. In this case, that one vote gave someone immunity - and changed this week's results for a second week in a row.

Congratulations to kehlen- who received this week's immunity, who was actually on the chopping block this week. This means they survive another round.

Leaving us this week from the main competition and joining the jury is

the always great [personal profile] megatronix

who will definitely be missed.

Thanks to the immunity, we also have a 3-way tie for that second spot between [personal profile] codenamewanderlust , [personal profile] kimschlotwrites  and [personal profile] murielle . Which means there will be a Sudden Death Write-Off to determine who will be leaving us. More on that later.

Now for Second Chance, they had their own unexpected results. The people joining the Jury are:

[personal profile] alycewilson
[personal profile] oxymoron67
[personal profile] reidharriscooper
[personal profile] stellinas

I'm really sorry to be losing you, but I hope that we will be continuing to see you around with the Home Game, the Green Room and of course in your role as the Jury that is helping to shape how this all plays out.

Those joining the main competition, and in the hunt to win it all are

[personal profile] dmousey
[personal profile] itsjust_c
[personal profile] spilledink562 [personal profile] wolfden
[personal profile] yachiru

There are two names who are missing. Because they tied. Which means that the final spot, that last shot at getting into the main competition is coming down to a one-on-one literary slug fest between
[personal profile] babydramatic_1950  and [personal profile] blue_velvet ! It's another Sudden Death Write-Off!

***

For those in the Write-Offs, here are your instructions. It's Open Topic. Meaning you can write whatever you want.
You have until tomorrow, Sunday Jan 20th at 9pm EST to link your entries back to the dedicated thread below.

Have fun!

I'm probably not going to be a very good jury member honestly. Unless someone wants to send me a tablet so I can read entries while on the toilet. I do all my best reading there. Congrats to everyone whose going forward.
I'll try to home game. Meaning if the prompt inspires me to put pen to paper I shall... if not, I'll probably write more. It probably won't be on dreamwidth because it's still adding another regular daily social media.

I'm proud and happy for everyone else, but going to sit in my melodrama cause I thought my writing this season was pretty damn amazing, so why be a gracious loser?

Your writing was amazing this season! I can't comment too much on the week because it was tough for me, but I have another chance with Sudden Death Write Off. But I hope you do homegame. I will miss your voice.

I watch a lot of shows like this, America's Got Talent, American Idol, X-Factor, etc. And what's true of them, and what's true of LJ Idol too is that at this stage of the competition, really good people with excellent writing are getting eliminated. Which is basically true all along, but it becomes more apparent when it gets to like Top 20!

ANYWHO, yes, dwell in the melodrama for as long as you want, but know you're also a great writer.

THIS, truly. Making it through one round, let alone more than one, means that you stand out. Nothing to be ashamed of, even if you didn't make it quite as far as you might otherwise like, and no reason to stop writing!

What a big, crazy, sad, exciting, dramatic, unexpected, and about 40 other descriptive words result! Congrats to those who made it through, much sadness and a lot of "I will miss you but hope you will be part of the wonderful Jury" to those who didn't go forth into the main competition, and best of luck to those in both of the write-offs! This is getting harder and harder, and despite being sick all day, I'll admit that I was watching the polls, and somehow wishing everyone would have one more week together. Silly of me, I know. I'm not usually this sappy.

Still, I wish everyone the best, no matter what the results are in the days and weeks to come. <3

OMG!! That means I have about three hours to write! I turned off my computer last night at 8 and have to go for an early morning sing. Then I have to leave at 2 to go to take care of my 84-year-old loved one in a house with no computers, Internet, etc. I went to sleep thinking I wouldn't make it through at all! Big challenge. But thank you voters!

(Try to write a draft long-hand if you have the time? - I always do it that way.)

Writing long-hand takes me forever and I end up with a terrible cramp. That's why my mother taught me to type when I was 10, after seeing me struggle trying to write a term paper, shaking my hand out every few minutes, and cutting corners.

I typed up some notes now so that I can write it out in full when I come back from church.

Good luck to everyone moving on! I look forward to reading your work as part of the jury. I'm just glad I had the opportunity to fight for a space.

The timing for this is actually rather good. I've just accepted a freelance writing assignment that will keep me very busy for the next six weeks. I'll have time to read and vote, but not much else!

I'm sorry to see so many go. There has been a lot of great writing these last couple of weeks. Good luck to those who are in the write offs and best of luck in the jury to those who will be joining it.
